After being a client here for 3 years my dog was in labor for more than 24 hours she had a puppy that had passed away stuck in her birth canal and needed an emergency c-section. Dr. Bennett (in front of my children) said if I did have the almost 4,000$ upfront then I could surrender my dog and her puppies and then they would save her. he was unwilling to work out any kind of payment plan with me even though I have been with the office for 3+ years with no outstanding balance or any issue. he acted like giving my dog up was no big deal and was very heartless. I then went to norway veterinary hospital where I had no prior relationship and they immediately helped my dog and were more than willing to work out a payment arrangement with me. Dr. Bennett has a terrible bedside manner and seems to me like he is only there for the money as he did not care what happened to my dog at all and said either I surrender her or she would die. If your looking for a vet that actually cares about the animals this is not the place to go.
My parents have been taking their dogs to Dr. Binette for years, so once I moved back to Maine, it was a no brainer that I would be taking my dog here as well. Every time I have called the office, my call has been answered promptly and my questions answered, not to mention our appointments were made and we didn't have to wait weeks on end-- most recently I was able to bring him in the next morning (I'm lucky, however, that my schedule allows for quick or last minute scheduling.) I always feel confident in the care my dog receives when visiting their office and appreciate the friendly staff. My dog is never scared when entering the building or leaving the building so I know he feels safe with the care that he receives.Another thing I love that was not done at our previous vet is the automatic rebates. In the past when I ordered HeartGuard, I had to mail in for the rebate myself. After ordering year supplies of both NexGuard and HeartGuard, the clinic took care of the rebate for me and I just had to wait for it to arrive in the mail. A $60 rebate is fine by me!
A cat who is peeing blood is not "just stressed out". What kind of incompetent animal medicine is this? Luckily, a qualified vet was able to diagnose the obvious problem and save our cat. Don't trust this place.
