I think like any other franchise business it’s all comes down to the money! It doesn’t matter if you have a plan with them! I’m not saying don’t use them! I think they are good for the puppy plan but other than that i wouldn’t recommend! Some location are better than other! & with this specific location they are not my favorite. Once I finish this plan I will not renew. I say this all to say because if you have something wrong with your dog your going to end up going to urgent care spending over $500 when again you pay for doctors visits in the plan…..my money can just be spent elsewhere!!

We have a Wellness plan and it was time for the fur baby to get another comp exam to ensure he's doing well. I decided to try the location closest to me. I called several times but no one answered. I finally decided to drop in during my lunch break just to make an appt. I've noticed one young lady primarily at the front working hard & multitasking. She apologized & said it's just her trying to take calls, check new clients in, & check people out. This is stressful and super annoying for clients... Later that day I noticed the vet needed a stool sample. I had questions but no one was available to answer my calls. However, when I delivered my dog for his check up, the team took good care of him. Called me 2x explaining what they noticed (he needs to lose a couple) & found a little debris in 1 ear. I authorized the cleaning & was able to purchase the ear cleaner from them which was convenient since Amazon didn't have it. The doc was taking wellness visits in between surgeries. I think Banfield can drastically improve the Customer Experience by adding at least 1 more front-desk employee. I shouldn't have to burn up precious time and gas to make appointments & ask basic questions.

Ok, so you know if you have a cough or stuffy nose that persists after you take Robitussin for a few days, how you'd make an appointment to see your primary care physician... but if you woke up with a tennis ball sized pulsating mass growing out of your face ooooooorrr maybe felt shortness of breath so severely you could barely get out of bed, you'd likely go to the emergency room, call an ambulance, or see a specialist right? A primary care physician or general practitioner would likely refer you to a specialist or the emergency room if you arrived with your foot falling off....Banfield is not an emergency clinic, nor do they employ specialists for complex matters hence why if your pet appears to be close to death, they will likely refer the pet to a specialist or emergency clinic, just as the PCP's offices tell us that if we are suffering from a life threatening issue, we should go directly to the emergency room instead of scheduling with a general physician or practitioner. This brings me to the wellness plan / package that is useful for vaccinations, general office visits, and annual wellness appointments like dental exams and teeth cleaning. Banfield's wellness plan should not be mistaken as insurance that will mitigate costs in the event of more serious illnesses or bad injuries. I look at it similar to the general maintenance package I have for my car that enables me to get free oil changes and car washes at the dealership, BUT.... if I crash the car or if the transmission fails would not be covered by my general maintenance package and I would not be upset about that. With those things said, yes... this location's administrative staff has some areas of opportunity for customer service, but Juleesa, Brittany, and Lindsey have all always been professional and pleasant in my experiences. It is extremely difficult to get through to them by phone as they appear to be always extremely busy which does not bother me since I book, make changes to, and track Koffee's appointments through the Banfield website or mobile app. We've had consistent great appointments and services for Koffee from Dr. Bain, Dr. Edwards, and Dr. Washington at Waldorf's location. Booking with any of those vets over the years has been something we've never had any negative issues with and will continue to recommend to friends and family. Koffee's breed is "Intervertebral disc disease" prone & my sweet princess suffers from the occasional back issue flare up. The frequency has increased some, as she is getting older and on a recent visit to retrieve her some pain meds we were informed that Dr. Hurley has become certified to treat this kind of ailment with acupuncture. Acupuncture is a specialty service not covered by any wellness plan Banfield offers, BUT.... if your fur baby suffers any kind of chronic pain, disc, joints, bone, or muscle related issues or episodes, I highly recommend looking into having them treated with acupuncture services by Dr. Hurley. Before her first session with Dr. Hurley, Koffee was suffering an intermittent episode and displaying signs of pain and discomfort, not able to bear weight on her hind legs at all, could not jump and seemed generally sluggish and slouched like a person with a severe strain or injury. We were worried she may not gain back full mobility in her back legs but after her very first acupuncture visit with Dr. Hurley, she was like a rejuvenated brand new puppy again. It was truly astonishing to witness and her general temperament had completely improved for the best, by the time we were on the car ride home. You would think needles being stuck in her back would bother her, but Koffee actually seemed perfectly comfortable after each of her four sessions she attended weekly. Thanks to our switching to Cosaquin glucosamine treats they recommended and the visits with Dr. Hurley, Koffee is now running, jumping, and bearing weight on her back legs with ease. 5 stars to this pet hospital for providing Koffee the best services and care a dog momma co
