“I moved to DC from the west coast a few years ago and purchased an 80 year old unit in Georgetown with parquet floors. I expected i would have to replace the floor while remodeling. A friend suggested Artistic Hardwood Floors and they promptly gave me a very attractive estimate. Completely repaired all the issues, sanded and stained it to a beautiful grey tone. Couldn't be more pleased and saved a lot of money. Got compliments on that floor all the time....Fast forward 3 years and I moved into another historic building (built in 1931). Immediately called Sergio and he completely redid the floors into a thing of beauty. I have recommended him to several friends and all are happy with his service. Your amazing team removed and replaced the damaged tiles, then your second amazing team sanded and refinished the area with three finishing coats, including the floor of the contiguous hall and dining area, so they match in color, size and spacing - it looks fantastic. “Let me start by saying I am extremely particular about my home and VERY pick about work that is done on it. I met Oscar 8yrs ago when I needed repair to work on exterior doors a previous contractor had poorly installed. Oscar was on time, professional, fair in his pricing and most importantly excellent with his work.Since then, Oscar has done all kinds of work in and outside of my home including reframe the brick around my basement door as well as the brick on the retaining wall in front of my house. He's rebuilt my backyard patio, installed tile backsplash in my kitchen, painted all three levels in my house, installed new plumbing, vanities and light fixtures in all three of my bathrooms, repainted my front porch, installed a closet enclosure in my laundry area, installed outdoor flood lighting and new light fixtures on front and back porch, as well as my basement outdoor light. Installed new flooring in my home office, and most recently installed waterproof, vinyl laminate plank flooring throughout my entire basement. He's done a myriad of handyman and fix it work, always on time, fair priced and excellent work. If Oscar can't do the work (note: there isn't much he can't do) he'll tell you up front. If he does the work and you are not quite satisfied, he'll keep tweaking to your satisfaction. But I've learned over the years to trust his judgement. He knows his client and WILL get the job done. “We lived here for 2.5 years and it has been a wonderful experience. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, all maintenance issues were handled within 24hrs if not sooner, the management were always responsive and solution-oriented, and the building was always clean and well kept. Every aspect of living in the Hightowers was streamlined and efficient and we would highly recommend the location to others.There is a park behind the building which is used as a playground for kids during the school day and for sports in the evening but we never found the noise to be an issue, even with our windows opened all the time on the 4th floor. In all honesty, we always appreciated that the park was getting used and it was pleasant to hear people enjoying themselves. With the windows closed, any noise was negligible.“
