Dr. Amen is a decent acupuncturist and has a good knowledge of herbal medicine. I'd recommend going for herbs but avoiding homeopathy. If you need to discuss mental/emotional issues, find a psychologist, since Amen tends to call people "drama queens" rather than validate their emotions and experiences. Also, be aware that the Purple People cult, a.k.a Naziryah Monastic Community, which Amen is a member of, is an abusive cult even though they portray an image of peace, love, and light.

Dr. Amen is a very knowledgeable, kind and caring doctor, and his staff wonderful. His knowledge and training are extensive and I trust his advice completely, but he also takes the time to serve with attentiveness and compassion, and oftentimes that's really what's needed. I recommend him highly.

I've been going to Wisdom Path Healing Center since like 2011 or 2012 when I mysteriously started developing intense joint inflammation in multiple joints. I would wake up in the mornings with newly swollen joints. I had a hard time walking in the mornings because so many parts of my body were in pain - my feet, knees, back at one point, fingers (could no longer make a fist or open jars or hold a dumbbell), my wrists, my elbows. I would hobble in to the bathroom and take a hot shower, which helped a bit. Western medicine had no answers for me - no clear diagnosis and no clear treatment although the rheumatologist I saw tried to persuade me to do steroids and cortisone shots (after declaring that I looked like an athlete in great shape with nothing wrong with me even as I was showing him fingers that were swollen). I wasn't down for either because I was clear that neither was a cure. I remembered a naturopath I had seen maybe five or six years prior who ordered several blood tests, and after careful review, told me that I had strong markers for rheumatoid arthritis. Both my primary care physician and Dr. Amen proceeded with my treatment as if it were rheumatoid arthritis. The only official diagnosis I got was that it was an auto-immune polyarthritic condition. I learned later that auto immune conditions present differently, which might have been part of the difficulty in diagnosing. Also, by the time I saw the rheumatologist, I had already begun working with Dr. Amen. I was skeptical with Dr. Amen at first (somewhat frustrated by the initial cost of the visit), but he convinced me to stick with it, explaining that the work he does isn't like Western medicine or a pill that works right away. Plus, he said that we could effectively eliminate all or almost all of my symptoms. I was persuaded, and over my time with them, I've made a lot of choices that have helped me achieve that goal of actual healing. I sometimes have a few pains here and there (almost all in my feet and all of which disappear after a few weeks as I keep working with Wisdom Path), and I can't wear heels anymore, but I am fully mobile and don't experience the multiple joint inflammation through which I suffered when I first started with them. I also work out regularly and became vegan. Wisdom Healing Path aided in that transition with the cooking classes that Na'Amana leads. I knew how to cook, but I needed more options. That was key in my shift to veganism. It's been about five to six years that I've been vegan. I cheated the first few years but after several strange responses to eating animal products, the last straw of which was styes and cholazeans on my eyes, I accepted that animals aren't good for me to consume. All of the work I've done with Wisdom Healing Path has fixed or significantly diminished several physical ailments I was suffering, in addition to the rheumatoid arthritis - a persistent pain in my side, eczema, hot flashes, IBS, migraine headaches, and eventually the cholazeans on my eyes. I highly recommend Wisdom Path Healing Center. On one of my early visits, Dr. Amen said something to me to the effect of, "We can cure this. If you get rid of more than 95% of symptoms, I don't know what a cure is." In my time with him, we have gotten rid of probably 99% of the arthritis and 100% of the migraines, side pains, IBS, and eczema. I now see the cost as an investment in myself. It's worth it. My only image of rheumatoid arthritis was a cousin who was wheelchair bound for all of her adult life since her early 20s. I wasn't prepared for that, so I was happy to work with them and to see significant changes in a relatively short period of time. It's a family business, and so I have watched the children grow, and all of the adults know me and my life. It's the best healthcare I receive.
