“I've been getting my hair cut here for the last several years since moving to the area. The women who work here are fantastic, especially Mesu, the owner. I like it because it's nice and clean without being so fancy that the money is going to the branding rather than the quality of service. I also like that they will give folks a cut for free if they are unemployed but trying to get a job. That's the kind of local, community-based company I like to support. And maybe my husband looked a little scruffy when he went the first time, but they asked him if that was why he was coming in because he's trying to find a job and mentioned they offer that service, and I thought that was very gracious because then people don't feel uncomfortable having to ask for charity. Also, their coffee is amazing.“

“Salon Zoma is a gem in downtown silver spring. Fairly priced for this area, and Fasika is always so easy to work with and so efficient. She is always able to get me an appointment after work, it’s so convenient. Looking forward to a summer balayage! The entrance is a little hidden these days due to purple line construction but there’s a temporary sidewalk near the library entrance with signage to get to those businesses in that stretch.“
