Had two appointments with Dr. Gupta - first one ran 45 minutes late. It happens. Second appointment today - waiting over an hour in the waiting room and walked out. No informing of patients when they walked in about the wait, two receptionists doing absolutely nothing when they could be calling the handful of patients scheduled the rest of the day letting them know it's over an hour wait and they can come in later. That would be the smart thing - but instead they just let the patients sit and wonder what is going on. Multiple patients walking up and saying how they have been sitting for almost an hour. Unorganized, and complete disregard for their patients time. Will be finding a new practice.
To me fairness is fundamental. To start with the positive is my standing practice. In the case of this practice, I have nothing positive to say. I am being treated for complications from a terrible accident. There were insurance changes. I saw a number of GIs to treat those complications. The ER referred me to Dr. Gupta. They scheduled a future appointment. I asked the scheduler to fit me in in the event of a cancellation. Thursday, I got a call for a Friday cancelation. I took the appointment. Diane the Office Manager then called and told me that they did not take my insurance. Diane said she did not want me to be angry about a large bill. I had a call with Diane and a patient advocate from United Health. Diane said she never signed a contract for that plan. I'm a bit surprised if office managers have that kind of authority. United said that this practice was in network. Diane said I had seen Dr. Gupta's partner Dr. Bakshi so Dr. Bakshi was my doctor with that practice and that Dr. Bakshi was out of town. I thought they were supposed to cover for each other. Diane said I had seen too many doctors. I told her that was due to insurance changes. Diane rudely said: "That's not my problem." President Obama said: "Let me be clear. If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. If you like your plan you can keep your plan." Apparently not. I had not seen Dr. Bakshi. I saw the physician's assistant. The primary I was seeing at the time due to an insurance change was not happy about that. Dr. Gupta did not take the insurance I had at the time so I saw Dr. Bakshi. Dr. Bakshi delegated it to the physician's assistant. Diane would find any excuse for her bosses not to see me. Patients and plans keep her bosses in business and she is just plain nasty.
I have not been impressed by this practice at all. I was referred here by a current doctor, but it's been a nightmare! My first visit, I needed to postpone due to a work emergency. I was told I could do a video visit instead. I downloaded the app and filled out all the necessary informtion. No link was ever sent. I called the office and got their lunchtime voicemail. I called 8 times, up until closing and still only received the voicemail. I called the next day and was told I was a no-show. I explained how I never received a link and I they said the doctor doesn't see patients vurtually on Tuesdays so they never would have scheduled that. Execpt THEY DID! I was able to provide the name of the person who scheduled it thanks to the app and was able to avoid a no show fee. Thank goodness. Now today is the day of my rescheduled appointment. It was supposed to be a 15-minute video appointment at 12:30. It is not 1pm and I have yet to be seen. I am at my work office waiting to begin. It is very frustrating. The communication is severely lacking and there seems to be no care given to patient time.
