“I only started tanning a year ago for a wedding and chose to check out HT. I signed up for the membership because I planned on going multiple times per week over a couple of months and then could pause it the rest of the year, pay a $5 maintenance fee, then apply that when I re-start.
One thing I want to make very clear to others after reading reviews, they DO NOT pressure you into Anything. They will explain charges, give you prices and options and answer any questions you have. I have waited 15 minutes while staff have been signing someone up because they are that thorough in both explaining it and answering questions. If you do not ask, or you pay for things without questioning the total, which they both Tell you and are On the Screen, that’s a you problem. They could not do more to be transparent. If you don’t ask how much something is, it’s not on them to decide you are concerned about the price. Just like at a hair salon, you pay more there and you’re paying for professional products.
There are signs Everywhere warning you that you cannot use outside products due to them damaging the acrylic. I’m not sure why the shock and disgust from others. They have plenty of disclaimers before you purchase a membership or even pay for a session that says this is not allowed for this reason. If that is a problem for you, don’t go there. Yes they can up-charge the lotion, but this is a business and it’s not their responsibility to make it affordable for you.
I only use the diamond beds so I do occasionally have to wait. It would be great if they could add a fourth. The only time that their wait time quotes have been wrong have been due to customers going into the rooms and not being thoughtful of others, taking long amounts of time to get in or get dressed can easily add up to another ten minutes. If you have several customers in a row that do this, it can cause a huge back up.
The staff are so kind and helpful. I’ve had super stupid moments trying to figure out the beds and they have all been nothing but friendly and supportive.
Bottom line, if you’re a rational, reasonable, kind, human being you will have a good experience. If you are only willing to use the diamond beds, like myself, you may have a wait some times. Usually it’s not more than one or at most two customers ahead. Liz, Emma and Rachel will take care of you any way they can.“
