A sign was posted on the door to knock before entering, so the dog wouldn’t run out. Unfortunately I didn’t see him/her but I did receive an amazing experience. I walked in with the broken temple part of the glasses and walked out in less than 5 minutes with fixed glasses. Would definitely recommend to others. It’s clear they know what they are doing.
The Optical Shoppe of La Plata is the finest optical store I have ever done business with. Why? Because its owner, Donna, is a master in her field, an experienced and accomplished optician, trained in the complexities of grinding and properly fitting lenses into eyeglass frames so that you can see well. As someone who has had poor vision since childhood, my eyeglasses havenever been simple to produce, a source of great frustration until I met Donna years ago. I have stayed with her ever since because she is a perfectionist--she always gets everything right the first time around, a rare characteristic among nearly every other optician whom I have ever used. What's more, Donna has a keen sense of cosmetics and would never, for instance, if you have vision like mine, fit you in large eyeglass frames; instead, she would find smaller ones and make sure that you look very attractive in your lightweight eyeglasses. When Donna opened her shop in La Plata, Md. and relocated out of the immediate DC metro area, it was a long drive for me. So she assisted by sending my eyeglasses by USPS, thereby reducing my number of visits; and when I fell seriously ill, she met me half-way to her shop so that I wouldn't have such a long ride. She has always been amenable and eager to help in any way possible. Which brings me to my final observation about Donna: She is a very kind and compassionate individual, someone who cares about her customers and wants them to experience joy and happiness--and for sure they will, especially with her striking and precisely crafted eyeglasses.
Great service! Donna really works with you on what looks best with your face shape. Her glasses last me for years. After years of other company's messed up glasses and wrong prescriptions, I have realized you get what you pay for. Her service and quality of glasses are worth every penny:)
