I wish there were MORE stars to give Hagerstown Heating and Cooling. After a different company screwed up my heating system "repair" leaving me WITHOUT heat for a WEEK, I called Hagerstown Heating and Cooling. WOW! What a difference!!! Not only did the technician arrive on time, he actually came EARLY! Extremely KNOWLEDGABLE, PROFESSIONAL, EFFICIENT and FRIENDLY. This man thoroughly checked EACH and EVERY aspect of my HVAC system, and carefully explained what he found, and what could be done to get it fixed. This man REALLY KNEW what he was doing!!! I thought the charges were VERY fair, and I was assured their work was guaranteed for one year. I cannot even BEGIN to express just how IMPRESSED I am with this company. They will be my "go-to" for any and all future HVAC needs should they arise. OUTSTANDING!!!
I purchased a unit from Hagerstown Heating in 2018 after a great sales pitch from the owner that included a 12-year warranty. I have had issue after issue with the unit freezing up or failing and each time I have to pay a trip charge for someone to come. The most recent mechanical failure cost me two trip charges totaling $138. I was also quoted a charge of $375 to install a surge protector on the unit to POSSIBLY prevent one of the issues in the future, only to be called a few weeks later and informed that it would be over $1,000 instead, and then asking me to agree to that price (I declined). When I asked why they wouldn't honor the quoted price, the response I got was "We need to stay in business". By now it seems obvious that I got the heating equivalent of a lemon from them, but I am stuck either paying for them to come each time or to buy a new unit from another company. My frustration at having to incur the repeated charges for them to fix the defective unit they sold me was met with the same response of "We need to stay in business".
