Original post: I have been going to Total Dental Care for four years. I've been to the practice for routine dental care, a dental implant, and Invisalign treatment. I've always been satisfied with the professionalism and care of the doctors and hygienists at this practice.

However, I recently received a surprise bill for thousands of dollars even though I had not received treatment for anything other than routine cleanings for almost a year. When I asked the office what the charges are for, I was told there was a remaining balance from my Invisalign treatment because my insurance did not cover as much as originally estimated. The contract I signed with the office estimated my charges would be half of what they are now, so I feel that they should have provided an accurate estimate of charges from the beginning. The only reason I decided to receive Invisalign treatment from this office was because they were offering a promotion, so I feel that they purposefully misled me on the total price so I would agree to sign up.

I've also had difficulties getting clarification from them on what the charges are specifically for. They should not expect patients to simply pay bills without understanding what they are paying for. I did not receive a response when I emailed the office manager to discuss the situation.

If you go to this office, make sure you are 100% certain on what your insurance covers and what your total costs will be. Do not rely on them to provide you with accurate or honest estimates.“
