I don't review often but wanted to add one here because both my wife and I made eye exam appointments this year, (it was time) and after going through the initial eye tests, checks and pictures (without dilation), we then saw Gabriela Miller, O.D. for review, discussion and additional testing. We were both happy with what she did, and how everything was explained clearly. Prescription eyewear selection followed and that was fairly smooth as well. I thought the frames selection was somewhat limited but I don't have anything to compare to currently. Overall happy with everything, and will return in the future.

Dr. Rubin is an amazing ophthalmologist whom I've been seeing for eye exams for many years. However, in the last couple of years, there have been changes in the office and it starts to feel different. I went in again and there was this one lady at the front desk who was extremely rude and unprofessional. When I approached the front desk to request a printout of my contact lens prescription as suggested by Dr. Rubin, she insisted I had to pay for both a contact lens exam and a glasses exam, even though I hadn't requested a glasses exam, and my glasses prescription was still valid from four months ago. I paid, but requested explanations. Despite explaining my insurance coverage and situation, she remained adamant, refusing to listen and even declined to provide my prescription print out, citing distraction from billing inquiries. She then callously added, "You contact your insurance. If nothing else I can help you. You can be out of here." When I suggested Dr. Rubin come out to explain, the lady at the front desk callously retorted, "Dr. Rubin doesn't own the business. It is what it is; you have to pay for two exams." This further added to my disappointment and frustration, as it seemed to dismiss my concerns entirely. Feeling frustrated and disappointed, I requested Dr. Rubin's presence myself, and he and another front desk staff member clarified the billing procedure and explained changes in my insurance policy. Despite this, I still questioned the necessity of double exams, especially given the recent glasses exam. While Dr. Rubin is excellent, the behavior of one team member left me feeling disrespected and dismissed, tarnishing the overall experience.

TL;DR Good eye exam, but such a long appointment. I think it would be best for the practice to inform patients that appointments can last upwards of 2 hours. My optometrist was great and very thorough with examining my eyes and assessing my sight. I really appreciate her diligence and for answering all my questions. I do think that there's overbooking and that leads to very long appointments for patients. When I came in for my appointment, I arrived ~10 minutes early so any leftover intake could be completed (I already completed all the online forms). They took my medical insurance card and drivers license and probably scanned them. That's fine. What's weird though is that another person with the same appointment time came in at exactly the appointment time, and had informed the front desk that she hadn't completed the online forms, but was brought back for her appointment almost immediately.I waited over 30 minutes to be seen, not including my pre-appointment time either (to give them the benefit of the doubt since coming in any time prior was not agreed upon). We did do a topography, but the set up time for that was ~45 minutes. While I waited, I was brought to examine glasses, though I informed the person helping me that I would likely order my glasses online as most shops don't have frames that work well with my face. After everything, I ended up leaving a bit after 6pm and was the last patient there I believe. By the time I left, all the front intake staff were gone.I'm glad I came at the end of the day so that I didn't have to go back to work. I think it's highly worth mentioning at the time of appointment scheduling that the appointment will take ~2 hours. I thought 1-1.5 hours max was the norm and this was not the case.I think this would be a good place for a comprehensive eye care experience. Getting your eyes checked and buying glasses/contacts. I think there are less expensive ways to purchase contacts and glasses, but that's just my take.Definitely do recommend the optometrist here! She was one of the best I've been to.
