It is a mixed review I write for CARE. Let's start with the good parts. Once your animal is being taken care of by the folks at CARE, the veterinarians are very adept at their job, and they do an excellent job communicating everything to you. They have detailed reports they can share with you in print and in email, they are wiling to talk to you on the phone and in person, and they will make themselves available whenever possible. The facility itself is two parts. For the people, there are half a dozen rooms, and you wait in a room until you get the information about your animal. The front desk staff will help you answer any questions you have, and they are very well informed. The facility is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, so, that is great. Parking is also very easy. Ok, but why are the reviews so bad? Well, it's because of the wait time. My vet called in advance to make sure they could take me, and they could. When I told my vet I would probably be there later, my vet seemed annoyed like CARE was waiting to help right away. I called CARE to let them know when I would arrive, and they said that was great. They have a shift change around 8 pm at night. So, that meant when I brought in my beloved animal, they had about 15 minutes before that happened. What they should have done is let me stay with my darling, instead, they took my animal back right away, to "stabilize" him. OK, but if you're not going to look at him at all, why not just leave him with me or give me the option?????? That was very upsetting, because it was not until 945 pm they looked at him, and then after that, they chatted with me and then they took care of another part of the plan of action, and in total that was over 3 hours. So, that is why the reviews are so bad. Mind you, they did update me periodically to let me know what was happening or not happening, but still, I just wish I was told in the beginning when I called to expect a total wait time of 2 hours before my animal would be seen and another 1 hour after that for them to figure things out. Aside from that, why else might the reviews be bad? Well, unfortunately, there was one person who was very callous about my questions and comments during this incredibly difficult time, but honestly, I think this person was just someone who relates to people differently, so I don't hold it against that person. In addition, when I was paying the bill (thousands of dollars, thousands), they asked how I would pay, and I said credit. I asked, do people have thousands of dollars in their wallets to pay for these bills - and they chimed it that I'd be surprised, and people do pay in cash, even up to $15,000 in cash they've seen. Ok, well, I understand the facts, but again, given the gravity of the situation, that is not making me feel better about anything in life because I definitely am not able to carry $15,000 cash with me for emergency vet visits. Finally, when the end was in sight, they told me to call for when to have the euthanasia procedure. Again, failure to inform. We had to wait at least 30 minutes before being seen and another 15-30 minutes for them to take our darling animal back for the IV... to which, in shock and horror, I heard my darling kitty meowing in pain for his life three, yes, three different times. When they brought him back before he passed, he had bandages on both of his front legs and the IV on one of his back legs. This was extremely upsetting for us, for our cat, and based on that alone, I would never bring an animal here for euthanasia because at the end, to cause this additional pain was so horrifying for me, that I just couldn't understand how that could happen. The actual euthanasia process, well, that's what it is, but the IV process and the time, I wouldn't go back, ever. I am very sorry and will forever regret the pain I caused my darling in the last moments he had with us. So, that is why this place is great and not so great. In summary, for emergency care for animals, there aren't a lot of choices, wait time

Incredibly kind staff. Bad reviews about money, but it is an ER and I am not sure what people expect. Doctor was kind and had a lot of knowledge. I did have a small wait, but so did the other ERs that I called
