I was having a panic on my way to therapy and was turned away for being over 15 min late to a 60 min session. I understand being charged the late fee which is 3x more than my copay but very disappointed my therapist refused to see me during a mental health crisis. I needed her in that moment and not only did I not receive services, I'm also out $85. Double whammy. Any other Healthcare provider would have supported their patient in that moment. I'm so disappointed by the 15 min rule. I guess they wouldn't be able to bill insurance for the full hour and make enough money off of us. The fact that their policy is to deny services when late due to a mental health crisis is absolutely horrific. This is also my first time missing an appointment and was still charged a no show fee. And I was on my way.
