“I started training at Barro Vermelho 8 years ago after moving to DC. I had done a few years of capoeira regional before. I looked around and tried classes at a couple of places, but ultimately chose BV because of the great community. Friendly students, and a very open, non-hierarchical or stand-offish group. Mestre Bomba is very accessible, and easy to talk to. “This was awesome!! Evy was a super cool teacher. I took the beginners class for the first time and she explained everything very well and came around to make sure my form and technique was correct. I didn't realize it would be such a workout but it was a lot of fun. Stuck around to watch the advanced class too and Evy taught both and that was cool to watch (on a whole different level than beginners haha)“
