“Wow. Don and his team are incredible. If I could, I’d give them 10 stars. What a difference Silver Spring Landscaping has made for our property.<br><br>Our backyard was a mess. It sloped off abruptly, and badly needed a retaining wall to stop it from crumbling through erosion. The previous owner had placed great numbers of concrete cylinders along the slope, then covered the cylinders with dirt in an effort to level the yard. As you can imagine, over time the cylinders shifted and dirt rolled down the slope, carrying our plantings with it. We couldn’t even replace our back fence because there was no terra firma on which to build, just shifting dirt.<br><br>Don talked with us and was able to imagine a solution far better than anything my husband and I could have imagined. Don and his team (including the foreman, William) excavated all the concrete cylinders (no small job). They build a substantial hardscape retaining wall, and properly leveled my yard. They took special care with water control, installing different type drainage systems. They installed a new fence, planted new sod, and designed and planted beautiful new perennial plantings. And all of this within one week!<br><br>Truly, the attentiveness and care William and his crew displayed throughout the project was noteworthy. I asked a lot of questions, but they never made me feel that my questions were unimportant, or that I was a pest. At one point I noted the new fence did not completely seal off our backyard from our neighbors. They revised the design immediately so that the fence completely sealed off the yard. Don was just as attentive to our needs, going out of his way to make sure we were happy with plant selection and placement.<br><br>I’ve worked with contractors in the past who “do the work” without truly caring about the work. This is not Silver Spring Landscaping. All of them, Don, William, and the crew, made it clear that the quality of the work mattered to them as much as it did to me. The professionalism, skill set, and knowledge of their craft is exceptional.<br><br>Both my husband and I are awed by the finished product, especially when we remembered what it looked like just a few days prior. We are so glad we engaged Silver Spring Landscaping. “I lived in Japan for 2 years and gained a deep appreciation for the serenity of Japanese gardens. Upon my return to the United States, I hoped to turn my yard into an oasis reminiscent of my time in Japan. From the first time I contacted Mr. Lee, he was professional, communicative, kind, and understanding. He is a true artist! Mr. Lee came to our home, made sure he understood our vision, and created a design beyond what we could have imagined. Next, we visited his property and learned about how this family business was started by Mr. Lee’s father (we even got to choose a tree planted by his father over 40 years ago). When we decided to add lighting and expand the design to our entire property, Mr. Lee listened thoughtfully and revamped the plans to ensure we could stay within a budget we were comfortable with. A few months later (when the weather was just right and our other outdoor projects were complete), Mr. Lee returned with his crew and spent 4 days making our dream yard a reality. He was on site every step of the way, carefully placing each plant and boulder “just so” to ensure the optimal result. The finished product is beyond anything we hoped for, and we feel grateful to have Mr. Lee’s work on display at our home… it truly is “living art!”<br><br>P.S. “I just purchased a house in Damascus, before I even moved I was regretting the purchase. “We had a problem with stone patio and stairs that were installed back in 2016. We called J & G Landscape Design for the repairs in December 2023. When we called J & G for help they were very kind and sent a project manager to inspect the patio and provide an estimate. He was very professional and explained how the slope had caused the patio/stairs problem. He also recommended some features to make the stairs safer.Two workers came over as scheduled. They worked very hard and the patio and look 120% better, and all the loose stairs pavers are securely in place now. They even added some mulch and sod that improved the overall appearance.We are extremely happy with J &G Landscape Design.“

“We are in the process of build a pool when we found J.O.K enterprise. They really jumped in and help us with our concrete patio. We had grading issues because the pool was too high and lost trust in the pool company. They came in and gave us some honest advice. They did such a wonderful job with the concrete patio, we had them do the grading and grass for around the pool and all the other areas ruined by the pool project. The trucks from the pool subcontractors ruined our neighbor's driveway and yard, JOK fixed their yard (gravel, graded, topsoil, & sod) at not cost to the neighbors. It looked better than what they originally had. Otto, one of owner, was always on site and always giving us honest feedback to our ideas. These are good hardworking honest guys. I would use them again.“

We gave Jay a particularly difficult task… creating a patio within a copse of trees without damaging the trees or roots. His design was inspiring. He created a beautiful shaded space for our family to enjoy in the hot summers. The patio itself even resembles a tree. He took care to make sure the drainage was perfect for our space, something other contractors didn’t seem to want to bother with. His team came on time, was focused and professional.
