AMAZING!!! New to the area and needing to get set up with a chiropractor and decided to visit Dr. Smallwood. All I can say is WOW! Top notch service! Professional, listens to your concerns and needs and cares about what works for you. Looking forward to setting up a continued visits for adjustments and maintenance throughout marathon training. If you need to be seen, then Dr. Smallwood is the man!

I have been a patient since about 2012, diagnosed with compound scoliosis as a young adult. Not only has Dr. Smallwood help my back pain, he lessened the degree of my curvature over the years. He is able to help other joints as well, including wrists and ankles. The man truly performs miracles. His staff has the same positive and caring attitude that I experienced nearly ten years ago. Couldn't recommend this facility and staff enough. If you need help with any joint-related pain, you will find a no-nonsense diagnosis and treatment plan here. You all are the BEST!

In February I went on a business trip to Maryland. While staying at the training facility, my neck was injured by the pillow. I am more susceptible to this type of injury because I was in a car accident recently. I could not move my head in any direction and needed to be seen by a great chiropractor immediately. When I called this office, they suggested calling my chiropractor in California to figure out what type of treatment I have been having since the car accident in order to know how best to treat me. When I came in, Dr. Smallwood already knew my history and was able to immediately treat me in the best way possible. His adjustments immediately allowed me to have full range of motion again! Yes, I was still in pain but I went from being a 10 (on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being in the most pain), down to a 4. It was more like a sore ache and not like a sharp acute pain anymore. They treated me with electricity, ice, and heat as well. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Smallwood and am so grateful that he was able to help me.

Alexander Chiropractic Center has been open in southern MD since April 2000. Dr. Alexander is an active member of the ACA (American Chiropractic Association), ICA (International Chiropractic Association) and MCA (Maryland Chiropractic Association). He is also an active member of the St. Mary's Chamber of Commerce (2009 small business of the year), and Calvert Chamber of Commerce (2008 small business of the year) and a sponsor of numerous sports teams, schools, clubs and scholastic scholarships. Alexander Chiropractic Center has held its Kids Day event on the 3rd Saturday of May for the past 10 years. This event has been recognized by the St. Mary's and Calvert County Commissioners , Senator Roy Dyson, and U.S. representative Steny Hoyer.
