I've been attending Shauna Simon's new yoga studio in the Glen Echo Shopping Center since it opened about a year ago. It's always a delight to enter the warm, friendly space, where there is a small shop selling everything from yoga clothing to beautiful artwork. The studio itself is spacious with a wall of windows looking out on nature, soothing lavender walls and clean, bright floors. Shauna has a wide variety of yoga props that can be used, so you don't have to bring your own. I started with SS Yoga about five weeks ago as a complete beginner, and can't see going anywhere else. In my short time there I have had several instructors, and liked them all. Shauna, the owner, stands out for me since I have had the benefit of her individual help. There are a variety of class offerings covering all skill levels. The classes I have been attending have been perfect for me, and I know that I am progressing thanks to the attention of the instructors. Simon Says Yoga is a very welcoming place. Yes I have attended 3 classes at your yoga studio, and your response- dripping with hostility and defensiveness does nothing to help me think I should try another class and is why I'm using initials so I am not harassed by your friends and clients. You can prioritize your business selling colonized yoga and I can prioritize an authentic yoga studio that is inclusive and safe for all. You can and should do better but that's your choice. Do you acknowledge the harm that your business inflicts? Your teacher described yoga poses using incorrect sanskrit for example and many positions were not explained correctly per the benefits or what its accomplishing layers... read full review
