Honestly, I give this place 5 stars because it's the only hospital I'm comfortable going to, taking my family to or referring anyone to in this area. Of all of the hospitals in this area, they are the most professional and deliver the best care. I've had two children hospitalized here, a grandchild and a niece born here. All were pleasant experiences. From the emergency room, to the ICU, a a regular hospitalization all has gone well. This will continue to be our hospital of choice, when necessary.

Out patient Stent Procedure for my husband. The Staff greeted us and explained and directed us to the correct floor. Procedure was at 8AM and the time flew by. Dr. Grinsberg performed the procedure. I was provided a patient number and code to view the different stages of the procedure. Staff directed me to the cafeteria and lounge. Waiting area very clean and had tv and WIFI information so I could work while waiting. Dr provided an updated. They monitored my husband for six hours and we were back home before 5PM. Long day; but excellent service. Thanks to the Doctor, the nurses, Vianna, Paige, Amanda and Maria who gave us some lunch and ginger ale while waiting in the recovery room and I got to watch HGTV. I highly recommend the Medical Center

What a terrible way to bring in the new year, balled up in a knot all night with abdominal pain, while stumbling back and forth to the restroom looking for any sliver of relief. After the ball dropped, I would find myself lying awake through the night in a state of pain, cold and hot chills, and restlessness. By the next morning I was exhausted, and my wife finally convinced me to go to urgent care. I was hopeful, but in the end, they recommended that I go to the ER which in the end was the right call, but at the time I was so out of it, that I almost asked my wife to just take me home so I could lay down. I just didn't want to start the waiting process over again and the ER can be so unpredictable. However, I kept my mouth shut and she drove us over to Anne Arundel Medical Center. Looking back on my visit, I think the first thing that really bothered me was that there wasn't anyone looking at the people who were coming through the door. There was basically just a sign that said stand here for patient check-in, and only 1 person working the check-in desk, but a good amount already and a steady flow of people after me. 2 people in front of me and I stood there lumbering for about 20 minutes before I could take a seat. I used to work as hospital security a few years back, and if we were stationed in the ER waiting area, part of our job was to watch who came in. If they looked like the needed assistance we would request it, and if they didn't look stable, we would ask if they needed a wheelchair. The security here just stands in the doorway and seems very divided from being an actual resource for the hospital. My guess is they're only hands on when things get rowdy, where we were trained to listen, and offer suggestions to help and de-escalate situations before they got out of hand. Except for Blood work and an Ultrasound, I would sit in the ER waiting room for just over 3 hours before getting a room. Once I got to the ER bed, I would finally get some medicine for my pain. The doctor came went over everything with me, and I would end up opting to be admitted overnight for surgery. I spoke with the resident and attending from the surgical staff that night, and they were both thorough. informative and insuring. I felt good about opting for the surgery and in hindsight I'm still happy I chose to get it over with, because chances are I'd be right back in that same situation a few months down the road. One of my only issues in the ER which would continue into my stay overnight in observation was that, initially they were looking to possibly complete my surgery the same day. When that was no longer an option another member of the surgical team spoke with me and said I was NPO after midnight. I asked for water to drink, but since the status on my paperwork never changed, they wouldn't allow it. I wasn't mad, they were airing on the side of caution, but I had just spent the night nauseous and vom***ing. They wouldn't even give me water to gargle. The inside of my mouth tasted like death, they kept coming in and checking on me, and telling me to "breath like this, breath like that, look up and breath, look down and breath, take a deep breath and hold" and I just wanted to gargle some cold water, and possibly brush my teeth because I had Listerine in my bag. However, when it was time to take medication, I could then sip water...lol. Between the ER and surgery, I asked 6 nurses for water to "Gargle and clear my throat" and only 1 let me right before I left for surgery. Mind you I could've gotten up at any point and drank water in the bathroom or the sink in my room, I wasn't even on that type of time. I just wanted to clear the buildup of mucus in my throat, and not have cotton mouth. The surgery team was extremely pleasant, and they all came to meet me before we started. They were so good that I really didn't even have time to be nervous before they put me under. I was laughing on the operating table and cracking jokes, while doing what they asked. The ne
