“After much research and acquiring five written quotes from five of the top ten reviewed roofing companies in Manitoba Jayson, from Racka Roofing Inc., showed up in my yard; one of the five I met.
Jayson arrived on time and immediately came across as caring, kind, patient, professional, extremely knowledgeable and made me (us) comfortable regarding having to potentially spend between $11k and $14k for an approximately 1,500 square foot multi-level roof replacement.
Jayson quickly went up on the roof and made his assessments taking accurate measurements. Jayson answered every question I asked informing me I asked some questions no other home owners had asked before.
Unlike three of the other five company representatives (appraisers), Jayson confirmed what I already knew: the current 3-tab shingle roof was not in immediate need of replacement.
I was expecting to be pressured to purchase a new roof. Not so. Jayson confirmed our roof had another three to five years of life left.
Jayson promised to, within two to three business days, provide a written quote. This was done. Comparably, Racka Roofing Inc. provided the most affordable price utilizing all of the exact same materials quoted by the other four companies, including the Class III Certainteed Landmark Pro Coastal Blue Evergreen architectural shingles visible in the photograph.
And, in addition at no extra cost, a third roof vent installed on the north facing pitch, none of the other companies offered, or even recommended to be done relative to enhanced ventilation.
A written price was set and I can confirm that, in the end, the price remained the same; no hidden costs or surprises. What a nice surprise!!
In discussion I was offered a written workmanship warranty that unlike the current association standard of five years was meant to match one of the competitor's offers. With this I was very pleased and impressed.
When an installation date was set, in advance I was advised via email from Joanne of Racka Roofing Inc. the shingles would be delivered and roof topped. They were and that experience was exceptional too!
I received an email the day before confirming the installation would proceed as expected.
Dennis and his crew of three called and arrived as expected just after 7 A.M.
The entire job was completed by approximately 5:30 PM. Even when I insisted the capping already installed be reversed relative to the prevailing winds in my town. This including the complete cleanup of our yard around the perimeter concerning the removal of the old roofing materials and literally hundreds of roofing nails scattered in the grass, on the deck and on my gravel driveway. I insisted Dennis and his crew drag the magnets around the driveway a second time to ensure there was little or no chance of nails relative to a possible tire puncture (my research indicated many sad stories regarding poor or no cleanup of the nails in particular).
Dennis and his crew did everything I asked pleasantly, properly and extremely professionally. Again, I was impressed!
Thank you in particular to these four hardworking young men, two of whom are here from war torn Ukraine striving to make a good life for themselves, and perhaps their families. I hope they all enjoyed the pot of fresh brewed coffee I made and brought out to them early in the morning, cups and all!
Finally, I had requested to retain any extra bundles of shingles for future, hopefully unneeded repairs. This too was granted.
Payment was simple and convenient via etransfer.
One week later, as requested and uncustomarily done in the industry, Jayson returned to my home to most pleasantly address two very small issues and even walked my roof to ensure the job was well done and as expected.
