“They are the kindest, most helpful people! I brought in my wedding dress very last minute because I was worried that I needed an extra inch off the bottom post-my previous alterations. I called, and the tailor was willing to do it with less than two weeks…this is sooo difficult to find as a bride. When I came in and tried it on for him, he was very reassuring that it was the right length, that bridal dresses tend to be a bit longer, etc. He repeatedly told me that it was perfect and so beautiful—great reassurance!! I there was also a small stain on the back of the dress, and he said, no problem, let me remove this for you for free, and then did so so quickly. He then carried it out to my car for me as I’m quite short and he didn’t want it to drag on the ground. “I can sew so I tend to do basic mending myself like patching a tshirt or darning a sweater but a full length silk gown for a wedding guest dress was above and beyond my abilities. Hannah did a great job on my husband's trousers so I brought my gown (though Nordstrom's offers free tailoring the fix I needed seemed above basic fitting) and I brought the tiny ellie "nap dress" my baby will wear for a lining. We asked to bring in a slit that was way too high and exposing for a formal gown and to fix the length. We also asked to line the ruching of my daughter's dress with cotton. Hannah cleverly designed a way to use all of the extra length of my gown to add a thigh covering panel that looked like the dress should have been designed with that perfectly matched the one other visible bias running seam. She selected a really nice cotton and in a few weeks perfectly improved my daughter's dress to her measurements (I didn't know ruching could be lined and be easy on easy off for a toddler) and reconstructed the side of my gown. When I needed a minor tweak I thought I would have to leave my gown again for another week but Hannah expertly fixed the hip area of my gown before I could change into my street clothes. I highly recommend Hannah at Hemmingway Tailoring for formalwear and clever and professional fixes.“

“I went to Lapels to fix the worn-down heels on my boots, since our local cobbler closed. Lapel's shoe repair person only comes 1x a week, so be prepared to leave your shoes for 2 weeks, but the work was amazing! For $40 my black suede boots look like new! New heels, soles, brushed and cleaned. Totally worth it. Easy drop off and pick up. I'll definitely use them again.“

“They do excellent work especially if you have expensive clothing. Sweaters come back with tissue paper to prevent creases. They use hangers that really support garments properly. I bring my down comforters and even my items that require washing versus dry cleaning. Whites stay white not grimy. And their tailoring is also excellent. They've cut down dresses and slacks for me, pinning them to my shape so they fit perfectly. I love this dry cleaner and use them for all my cleaning and tailoring even though I live ten miles away.“
