After returning from World War II, George Bell became a service technician for William Maloney Sr., the owner of Arlex Oil Corporation in nearby Lexington. In 1949, seeing an opportunity to expand its service area, William and George came to Sudbury to discuss the purchase of Interstate Gas & Oil from the retired Continental airline pilot. Once the purchase completed George quickly established himself. Through hard work and dedication, he was made partner.
