After numerous quotes and consultations for our farmhouse in Westfield, MA, we were inclined to work with Major Home Improvements because of their professionalism from the start. Vitaliy the owner has personally visited the job site multiple times and offered an extensive knowledgeable opinion that made us make some amazing changes (the pitch of the roof and Gable vs hip) that completely transformed the look of the farmhouse! Lastly, we went with a product that my wife and I absolutely love and Major Home Improvements made sure to walk us through every step before installation. Now we finally love the house more than we thought we would, all thanks to the roof. Do not cheap out on it and do not settle with someone other than MAJOR HOME IMPROVEMENTS!“

From start to finish it has been a pleasure working with the complete crew. The team were all courteous and helpful. The responsiveness and constant communication was beyond what we have ever experienced with hiring a contractor. Thank you for that Igor & Alex.

Our scary basement is now gorgeous! We highly recommend Alex, Igor, Peter, Nick, Mark (electrician), Gregorie (plumber), and all the others.

Some Details: Alex’s was the only contractor we met with that showed us what the space could possibly look like...a design rendering was above and beyond and it is what sold the job. Also provided a very detailed description of materials/costs, and he went over all the tasks that were needed to ensure moisture wouldn’t be an issue. Price: They were not the least expensive nor the most, they were in between and we felt definitely a fair price. We did add a few things, and in the end the extra cost was still very fair.

Our 1957 home had MANY challenges, and there wasn’t anything that Igor (the project manager) couldn’t do to come up with solutions for each and everyone. Basement remodeling comes with special challenges, and they possess an extreme amount of knowledge in ‘basement’ remodeling, setting them apart from other contractors.

Also not to go unmentioned was the care/details, and that they really wanted to make sure we were happy with everything was unmatched.

What they did: CAD rendering, demolition, treating for mold, sealing floors/walls to protect from moisture, Framing (special metal type to ensure drywall did not touch the cement walls) Drywall (special for basements), Leveling a very uneven floor, and the soup to nuts: trim/painting/flooring etc all. We love our contemporary stairway banister, they used cabling, so sleek and everyone says how cool it is!

Lastly their electrician and plumber had exactly the same work ethic and communication mindset. Thank you Mark and Gregorie!

“Hiring a contractor takes a leap of faith when you are spending a notable sum of money. If you are lucky, you get a reference from someone you know and trust. You then vet and check references but in the end, you are still taking a chance. Mark was GC on a roof & window replacement along with external trim repair project. When (I mistakenly) ordered the wrong window type and flagged it after the window installation had started, Mark not only stopped the work but ordered the desired style and replaced the window. In the end he was beyond accommodating only charging me the difference in the cost of the upgrade. When you take a chance working with people, things happen and you hope that you can work with reasonable people. Mark is beyond reasonable. He and his crew were professional and at times observing the work was mesmerizing. At the end of each workday, they tidied up before leaving. At the end of the job the crew leaf blew the aggregate and de-nailed the yard and deck, best as they could. I happen to be a stickler so if you are like me no one can ever pick up to your satisfaction. With that said, final cleanup was quite satisfactory even though nails in the yard will be a thing while, its hard to avoid. On a four-day project Mark and his team were in and out with little evidence that they were even here, shy of the work done. I do not particularly like handing out “five stars” because there is always room to improve upon pretty much anything. But if I were to, Patriot would get it.“
