“So of course being here for only 4.5 years and having very FEW people that look like me, I would be hesitant to have someone do my brows. But the chic who does my locs (shout out to @cocoalocs) gave me the recommendation so I thought I’d give them a try. First off, I was greeted with a warm welcome. The aura of the place has to make me feel right. Second, they had some calming music playing but it wasn’t some crazy kind of music that made me feel like ? but just kind of like I could bob my head and my heart rate could slow down at the same time. Then I meet Kelly. Warm smile, but edgy. Cool but cautious. Let me dive in, but I’m careful not to scare you. I’m go as in as you let me. I liked it. Working in psychiatry, I got her and she got me. We kicked it off. She made me feel comfortable, told me what to expect. I told her fears, she calmed them and when she got started, I didn’t even know!
