The place is great, the doctors, nurses... you only lose in the parking lot, because the guys who work there are not at all friendly, they seem to hate their work, the mothers arrive with heavy bags and huge carseats and they make you enter in the room to get the parking ticket and they don't even help to open the door, they don't care. I've been taking my kids there for years and it's always the same. I'll start leaving the car on the street, so I don't even have to look at their faces again.
I recently started with a new Dr. at CHA because that's who my insurance chose for me, and I like her a lot, but everything else about this place is absolutely the worst. When I called for an appointment for blood work the person on the phone was incredibly rude. I told her what days of the week and times I could come in and she snapped at me "you have to pick an exact date you want to come in and I'll see if it's open". Sorry but this seems incredibly inefficient to me and considering I had to schedule my original appointment two months out I figured it best to do it the other way. Then when I got there it was beyond confusing. They gave me the wrong address first of all, and when I got there I had to ask three different people where to go for labs, they all gave me unclear instructions, then when I finally got to where I needed to be to check in, the woman at the desk acted like I was inconveniencing her to simply find my appointment and check me in. The guy who took my blood was actually really nice and was fast and good at his job. Everyone else acts so miserable. This is the reason why I never go to a doctor! I always have so much anxiety that it will go exactly how it did this time. Why can't people be more patient? I'm not a difficult person and there was no need for me to be treated this way. I understand we're in the middle of a pandemic but we've all got to get through this together and being mean to each other isn't going to make it easier. The medical professionals here are really great, they get five stars, but unfortunately everyone else made it a bad experience for me.
Almost impossible to make an appointment. If you have an acute illness, this office will simply tell you to go to the emergency room. Even simple prescription refills are a nightmare. Very unresponsive office.
