“We live on Martha's Vineyard where road test slots are notoriously hard to come by, and there's only one auto school in town. Not only did we have to book a road test on the mainland, but we also needed a car due to the fact that our own vehicle does not have the emergency break within reach of the examinator (its on the left side of our steering wheel, so not suitable to use for the road test). Each time we found an available road test at numerous RMVs, we had to contact a driving school to see if they had a car available for that time slot but by the time they returned our call, the RMV slot was taken. Drivers Edge Academy was the only school willing to go to the process with us, staying on the phone comparing the RMV availability with their driving schedule. We eventually settled on an 8am road test.My daughter was unfamiliar with the area just before her road test, and David not only took the time to work with her but also managed to calm her nerves. He met with my daughter at 7 am on the day of the roadtest. What's even more impressive is that he spent an exceptional amount of time on the phone with us the day before the test, going over every detail and expectation in thorough detail.David's accommodating, kind, and supportive demeanor truly made a world of difference for my daughter. He acted as an exceptional proctor for the road test, providing the guidance and reassurance she needed to succeed.If you're looking for a driving school that goes above and beyond, Drivers Edge Academy and David are the way to go. “I was recommended to Tony by my friend and neighbor's mother, who had never learned to drive. They are from Honduras. He was so heads and shoulders above the big school in the area. The instructor from the big school literally gave me no instruction and just let me try to drive spastically by myself while he made small talk and gave me literally zero instruction. I had no idea what I was doing and thought I was going to have an accident and die. I dropped out and they would not refund my unused classes that you must buy in a bundle. Tony was half the price and was such a great teacher I still refer to him as my "Driving Professor." I feel indebted to him after the extremely bad experiences with the other driving school and one other private one also. He is an expert who has taught extreme driving to the police force in his country and a real professional. He was one of the best people I have met in my life. IDK what is the problem with the bad reviews. Could it be they were not trying to learn? There is a law that anyone who wants to open an auto school must work for a big school for about a year first. One example he gave about working for the big school is they would schedule him what was purchased as a one hour class, say from 1-2 PM, but they would schedule his next class from 2-3 PM! He could not possibly get to the next student in time so all you got from the big school was 45 minutes but you paid for an hour. And they would not even try to schedule the next class nearby so often it was so far away that he couldn't even get there in 15 minutes without taking risks. He, in contrast, scheduled a class from 1-2 PM and the next one starting at 2:15 or 2:30 so every student got the full hour that they paid for. There is no better driving teacher you can find!“

“My dad had a driving license in China but wanted to get one in Mass. He recently took a few lessons with David and successfully passed the road test yesterday. David was so patient and friendly. He taught him lots of rules and what the test would be. He gave him a mock exam and pointed out many things he needed to pay special attention to. There were a lot of things and were really helpful for the test and the actual driving as well. David helped with translation during the road test as well. I would highly recommend David and the driving school, especially for people who need Chinese translations.“
