I have engaged Ryan Flooring (Quincy) on three occasions, but unfortunately, I've noticed a decline in their service quality over time. The first experience was approximately 18 years ago. Tina provided a prompt and reasonable quote. The work was exceptional with a flawless installation of new hardwood floors, earning them a 5-star rating. About 10 years later, the second engagement was less satisfactory. While Tina initially charged for the quote, she refunded the fee upon project completion. However, they used some chipped hardwood planks and failed to rectify the imperfections after sealing, resulting in noticeable flaws. Most recently, in June/July 2024, I contacted them to repair a scratch on the hallway floor. They promised to sand and coat the entire hallway but instead, the same technician as 10 years ago performed quick patchwork on the scratched area and left after 30 minutes, leaving a visibly uneven finish. Despite clarifying with Tina and having him return, he repeated the patchwork and departed in just 20 minutes without resolving the issue. Attempts to resolve this with Tina were unsuccessful as she stopped responding. As a result, I had to seek assistance from another flooring company to complete the job satisfactorily. Based on these experiences, I would caution others against using Ryan Flooring and suggest investing a bit more initially for better quality and reliable service elsewhere.

(I do not live in San Francisco, I live in Boston!) I'm giving them 3 stars because, in the end, we have a beautiful floor and the work done was very good. But they left a bunch of wood scraps, a ton of box trash, and all the carpet they took out... The price was really affordable compared to other places, which we were both happy about and nervous about. I would say their way of doing business is not as "polished" as some places (which charged a lot more money), and at times it made me nervous and unsure who I was dealing with or what the end result would be. However, they showed up when they said they would, and we have beautiful floors and are 100% satisfied with the work (and are thrilled to have paid less!). If you're someone who expects full-service such as the carpeting being hauled away and not left (they did cut it up and roll it into small, neat bundles that we can throw away in our trash but it's a lot of work), or the wood boxes and extra wood not being left in your home to discard (we've got a lot of boxes to throw away), then don't go with this company. If you don't mind a little hassle of throwing some stuff away, then you can get a great floor for a great price. Do remember to tip your installer!

Ryan Hardwood Floor has completed many projects at my house. Tina and her staff are very responsive and professional. Many people in my town and family members have also used them and have been very pleased. Great prices and great work!
