Dr. Tao is the real deal. The man has so much knowledge I could not even begin to understand his trade. He was thorough in his intake and explained everything to me (I am female, so I don't agree with the negative review). His manner was actually quite compelling. I showed him the herbal medicine from my other traditional Chinese medicine doctor and told him the cost and he just shook his head and said too expensive. He gave me a formals of thirty different granules that he weighed and measured out himself. This man is not in it for the money and trust me, he could be as he has hundreds of patients. he is a true healer.
I've been a patient of Dr. Tao for over 10 years. As a holistic practitioner, I have sent dozens of clients to him. Why, because he gets results. He is hyper focused Doctor and knows exactly the questions to ask and is studying everything about you to reach his logical conclusion. He is a brilliant man. Those who are used to traditional doctors who ask a series of exhaustive questions should stick with their typical, prescription pad Doctors. Dr. Tao asks specific, targeted questions and he simply wants a direct answer. I don't mind because I know that in the end, he will find the root issue, blend my herbals and send me on my way to heal. I can relate to his keen sense, because in my industry, I am able to tell much about my clients just by looking at their face and their body and by asking them targeted questions. Some might find Dr. Tao "rude" as mentioned in a previous review here, on yelp. I don't look at it as rude. I look at it as he is giving me 100% attention and studying me. These patients who don't get his style, need not be so controlling and allow this brilliant human to study you and work his magic.
I saw Dr Tao about three years for menopause-related anxiety, depression, insomnia and loss of libido. He treated me with herbs, cupping and acupuncture for about 18 months. The acupuncture/cupping treatments were sheer heaven.... Honestly, I'm not sure they had much lasting effect after I left the building, and sure once or twice the needles could be a little uncomfortable, but lying there on the treatment table, with the music playing, while they did their work, was exquisite. But the thing that really makes me want to leave a positive review is the herbs. After 18 months of treatment (yes, they are not cheap, and no, they do not taste good), I left town and so went without treatment for a couple of months.... and found that my levels of anxiety and dullness/depression were GREATLY improved. Communication is difficult -- his comprehension of English is excellent but he doesn't speak it fluently -- and his manner can seem peremptory but I really think he is a master practitioner. I have recommended him frequently.
