“I visited Deware Funeral Home twice and first met with Joseph to draft an initial plan for funeral pre-arrangements, and then with Sara and Dan in order to finalize and purchase said funeral pre-arrangements. I had no prior experience making any type of funeral arrangements but I feel that I made an excellent choice in going with Deware. I chose to do these pre-arrangements in order to hopefully lessen the burden and stress levels when the time comes for perhaps myself and those who follow me. All of these individuals at Deware listened to my needs and wishes and exhibited the utmost in professionalism and knowledge to guide me thru the process and to provide me with the best plan based on those needs. I never felt pressured to opt for features beyond what I felt were needed; rather, I felt that they just focused on making me a fully satisfied customer. They certainly succeded in that endeavor.“
“I cannot say enough good things about Sweeney Brothers and, specifically, Richard T. Sweeney, III. My family has used Sweeney Brothers for multiple funerals across multiple generations.
Especially during difficult times, you want someone who is knowledgeable, compassionate and out to help you provide the services and experience for your loved one and family. Sweeney Brothers was all that and more.
Customer service seems to be a lost art, especially in these post-COVID times, but Sweeney Brothers provided, by far and away, the best customer service I have received in the last 4 years (perhaps the last 40 years!)—it was exceptional. They are a business, and need to be paid for the service they provide, but I never felt any pressure to purchase something that I didn’t want. Options/suggestions/recommendations? Yes (and were appreciated since I didn’t know what to do). Pressure? No.
Emails and phone calls were responded to promptly—in fact, at one point I had to tell Richard to stop getting back to me and to enjoy his SUNDAY! He not only steered me through the entire process, including legal and regulatory requirements for body identification, cremation, internment but volunteered to make arrangements with the cemetery and church for services so that I wouldn’t have to.
Their history and deep ties within the industry and community allows them to make recommendations and connections that would be hard to match. They know what they are doing and do it exceptionally well. If there were 6 stars, I would easily give them and would likely be asking for a seventh.“
“We recently lost our dad of 92 years. We were in touch with Michelle Lydon who worked with us on all of the details to make planning his arrangements so easy. Due to the size of our family and guests anticipated, Michelle recommended we hold the wake at the Tirrell Room in Quincy, and it was the perfect suggestion for our needs. Michelle and her staff made certain the hall would present perfectly for all of the people that came to show their respect. She helped us coordinate transportation for the day of the funeral to keep us all together from the Funeral home to the Church, to the National Cemetery and finally to the luncheon. Everyone from Hamel-Lydon Chapel was exceptional in taking care of our dad and of our family and guests. We can’t say enough how grateful we are that we had Hamel-Lydon along to help us in this journey. Thank you for everything you did. Michelle, he would give you an A++ for how well you did.“
“Kathy Kane and the staff at Keohane FH provided caring service in my time of need upon the death of my brother Robert. People don’t realize when making funeral arrangements a series of decisions must be made within a short period of time. Our arrangements were challenging since the visitation was in Quincy, the funeral mass was in East Boston and the burial was in Medford. Kathy and staff performed well and I will always remember their compassion in dealing with me and my family. Thanks for the compassion and kindness provided by Kathy and her staff.
