I want to preface by saying this is a great gym aesthetically and the instructors are (for the most part) excellent and seem to genuinely care about helping you reach your fitness goals. My issue is with a choice management recently decided to make. I’m an avid goer of the barre and mat Pilates group fitness classes and the spot placement has always been pretty snug to the point where you can’t do certain movements if a class is full. Starting in March 2024 they decided to put the spots even closer together. The new spot placement is not only unsafe but also unsanitary considering we are still living in a post-covid world. I really like this lifetime. Very nice and clean environment. Facilities are high quality and classes are led by awesome instructors. The con is it closes WAY TOO EARLY on the weekends. Wanna go lift some weights after kids go to bed and they close at 10pm. Ridiculous. Please listen to your customers. At least open till 11.
Working here was not great. But, that free gym membership was the main incentive to stay. This gym is so nice. I dream about it to this day. I hear it is outrageously priced, but that was never a problem for me as an employee. Employee's are not treated very well. They are underpaid, overworked, and often treated poorly by upper management and gym members. The shifts were short at the Kids Academy, but I dreaded every second. I constantly was sick being surrounded by kids. They accept children as young as 3 months old, which is honesly insanity. I got pooped on nearly every shift. I was not allowed to sit or take breaks, and I had to constantly be engaged or else they would lecture you - all for MINIMUM WAGE. This massive gym corporation charging 250 a month for every member was giving us the least amount of pay they legally could. I knew I had my last straw when at the start of the panedmic, the general manager sent me home during my shift for wearing a mask (before the CDC officially recommended it). She is long gone now, and was widely disliked by most. Besides that, the gym itself is like a resort. It is nice when the facilities are working.
