Ordered french doors from Van Millwork that arrived the first time with all window panes scratched. The second time, the doors arrived the wrong size. After acknowledging the issue, customer service then proceeded to ignore any and all communications to resolve the situation. I'd recommend finding a company with better attention to detail.
Update on our experience with Van Millwork (RI developer who used them for stair parts). Van Millwork delivered all stair parts but a custom newel post to our RI job site. Nearly 4 weeks later, the custom newel post we ordered arrived there - after the lead time expired and too late to be installed. Once the install was complete, I texted my field rep to request to being back the extra material. He said with manager approval it should be fine. Well... 25 minute ride to van millwork - the man at the front desk rang up the return and sent the paperwork to their printer. The manager walked up to him, told him "no" pulled the paperwork out of his hands, walked over to me and told me van mill work no longer does business with me and they did not have to return it on the basis that it had been over 30 days. How was My installer supposed to install a handrail for the first 28 days without a post to put it in top of? She was clearly angry that I had complained about the Newel post and given a bad review on yelp. After several minutes of back and forth, the bottom line was that She told me she had the authority to refuse to return it, motioned to the door and told me verbatim that I could use it or sit in a chair until she left at 3:30. Our company has a flawless reputation with its vendors. In fact, we receive many compliments by them on our professionalism and efficiency. We are efficient because we communicate with out vendors effectively . We expect our vendors to deliver materials and services and communicate delays in a timely manner - and in return, we compensate them immediately after services are rendered. If you are this type of a business or person, please be warned. I have never in 10 years come across a company who behaved in such a manner.
