Rude. I have been incredibly blessed to discover some of the most genuine and kind business owners, and services through Yelp. This call was not that. Yelp posts a disclaimer to take into consideration COVID-19 when posting a review. I give that consideration all days not just during pandemic days, and so I write this thoughtfully... that kind of respect is a two way street, hiring clients are also dealing with a lot during these COVID times. That said: This owner was rude and defensive in a 'I don't want to be bothered tone' that was uncalled for & inexcusable. She cut me off as I was explaining what I needed. She doesn't clean rentals. I said, 'what does that mean'? Curtly she replied, 'I don't do rentals'. (me) you don't clean apartments or homes that are not privately owned? This is an empty house I'd need floors swept and appliances and bathroom cleaned as a curtesy.' Her tone was such that I had suggested she would clean a frat house and wash floors encrusted w vomit w her bare hands. I asked for clarification of what she meant by not cleaning rentals, and was defensively cut off again and told that her schedule was full next week, so it didn't matter. I had not gotten to giving a date of service. Even if you just didn't want to work on a particular given day, there is a way to speak to people that isn't rude. I saw a business with many 5 star reviews, and long term clients. I witnessed an absence of professionalism and basic courtesy. I would have asked for a referral to someone else still capable of appreciating new business that comes their way but the attitude was off putting. On a positive note, she answered the phone, gave me a clear impression of the type of person I would be doing business with and I'm grateful to be spared that experience.
