“My experience was very positive and stress free. The technician was named Travis and he assured me at 8:30 a.m. that he would be done before noon. At around 11 a.m. he knocked on my door and said he was finished. He let me open and close the door several times. The technician knew what he was doing accomplished the installation with efficiency and professionalism. The former door had been damaged by several incidents over the course of a decade. The new door is much quieter and is air tight when it is down at night.

“Pull up a chair, grab a drink…this is going to be a long post! When I fell in love with a fireplace surround at an antique store, I wondered if I could find a contractor who could ‘work backwards’ to make a dream happen. I met with two contractors who promptly ghosted me. I though about putting the darn surround on e-bay. Luckily, The Stove Place-where I bought the propane stove- put me in touch with Chad. From the first meeting I appreciated Chad’s confidence, insight and enthusiasm. It’s infectious. He quickly pulled the permits and got to work. The added touch of putting down thick cardboard to protect the floor from all the traffic that was going to happen was extremely considerate. He treated the project like it was happening at his house. He was always on time, one step ahead with planning and very respectful yet easy going and kept mum and I laughing. I felt included with what he was hoping to accomplish each day and even the following day. He organized the electrician and was ruthless with getting the inspections completed. Chad’s skill with framing, dry wall, plastering, anything to do with wood really, is top notch. He works carefully and has a high personal standard that shines through his work. He has a tool for everything. Never did he have to run out to grab anything. He arrives prepared to tackle the unthinkable! “We've hired several contractors over the years for a variety of projects and Colin is hands down the most knowledgeable, talented and easy to work with. We hired Colin and his team to section off part of our already finished basement to build a wine cellar. This included removing the existing walls/ceiling, framing, insulating, putting up new wall, plastering, tiling and installing a door and climate control system. Colin is very professional and tech savy. After coming to our home to discuss the project, he typed up a detailed quote/contract including a timeline with estimated dates of completion for various tasks. He was in constant communication throughout the project via phone, text and email (whether it be about arrival times, project related decisions or summarizing the status). We were impressed by his and his subcontractors quality of work and friendliness. He is detail oriented and cares about how the job looks. For example, to save money, we told him that we would do the painting. However, as the project progressed, he wanted to make sure the caulking on the baseboard looked right, so he primed the entire room at no extra cost. He is also just a caring person. While he and his plumber were working in our mechanical room, they noticed a major issue with our furnace which was potentially releasing carbon monoxide into our home. He and his plumber addressed the issue, even going as far as calling the manufacturer of furnace to confirm the proper set-up. Before leaving for the day, he also ran to Home Depot, purchased and installed a carbon monoxide detector in that room so that we would have piece of mind. He truly went above and beyond and we are very grateful. We have already started working with Colin on another project and look forward to hiring him in the years to come.“
