They should have a '0' star option. My story is "strangely" like others I've seen online. .I'm quoted one price by the sales guy from Mass Saves but when the actual work crew from HomeWorks show up, it becomes thousands more due 'items left off the original estimate'. I ask to see the permit they're supposed to have in hand, then have to call supervisors who say they don't usually show copies of it to the homeowners?...by MA state law, it's to be ON SITE when work is being done. The manager Brian finally called me back and admitted they didn't pull one as "nothing structural was really being done". Guess what? Wanting to rip up floorboards is considered "structural"!...read full review
DO NOT USE FOR MASS SAVES. They send out a salesman that doesn't know the rules of the program. They promise you all this work, take your deposit and then run!! The day the work was supposed to be done a third contract showed up and couldnt complete any of the work as it was not authorized under the Mass Saves program. Home Works will not respond to our emails or calls. We are out our money still with nothing to show for it. Worst customer service ever. I wouldnt trust them to do any work on my house!Service: Heating system maintenance
I had a terrible experience with the Insulation arm of this company ( the HVAC is separate and the dealings I had with them were entirely different and much better." It's important to read recent assessments-check the dates. From the beginning, poor communication and follow-up, months of trying to get a job done that it turns out didnt need to be done ( !)- they improperly assessed the property and after ripping off my siding said the house was already insulated. They were here for hours months after initial visit, and left the house in much worse condition than when they came, with the original siding they took off on loosely, a whole downspout left on the ground, tons of debris inside in the small area they did work on. A wonderful manager recognized the problems and spent hours cleaning up after them. The head of the team was nice but not the most experienced and the other 2 were inexperienced- 1 it was the first day on the job ( I was told a 'dedicated' team would be sent.) They told me there would be no charge for the job but I had to file a dispute because they owe me money on my deposit. Hours of time wasted. Worst of all, they caused permanent damage to my vinyl siding and have yet to get back to me about it. I see now that Heatsmart does not recommend on their website as they did before; perhaps others have complained.
