“I’ve been up and down the south shore at many different barbershops and none compare to this one. Every time I come in to The Modern Barbershop I’m greeted kindly and politely with a “Hey man! How are you?” Or a “What’s up brotha!”.. even when it was my first time walking in when they had no idea who I was! Just really great crew who go out of their ways to make you feel welcomed.

I’d like to shout out one barber in particular named Deklan. I ask for him specifically when I come in. I’ve always had trouble with getting the right cut from other barbers at the many barbershops I’ve been to whether it’s regarding my hair or beard and his attention to detail along with the way he listens to your requests and makes sure you don’t leave the seat without feeling comfortable with the result is like no other barber I’ve been to.

“My 5 year old son, and fiancé have been going to Jess now for about 3 or so years. She is so patient with my son, who has a tough time with not only sitting still but feeling the hair fall on him during the cut. She talks him through the entire cut and keeps him calm, and never shows stress or anxiousness on her end. She lets him watch shows, and has a little play area set up for when he’s waiting (which he loves).. “We’ve taken our almost three year old to five different places for haircuts, but today we tried Beth’s and won’t be going anywhere else. She, and her staff, were welcoming, accommodating, and completely kid-friendly. Beth was able to fit both of our toddlers (almost three and 19 months) in as walk-ins. He is close to my house, convenient location and hours and easy to make an appointment. Current haircut price is $20 bucks and only takes cash. The is an ATM in the shop.“
