Western Mass Martial Arts Academy is a renowned martial arts school, offering a welcoming environment for both children and adults. Led by the experienced and patient Shihan Majane, the academy provides instruction in a variety of disciplines, including Judo and Jujitsu. Students, ranging from beginners to advanced, are challenged with high expectations, while also benefiting from Shihan Majane's great sense of humor. The academy is praised for its ability to instill self-defense skills, self-discipline, and a deep appreciation for the martial arts.
I have known Shihan Majane since I was about 14 years old when I started at Trinity in Spfld. with Shihan Pearlman. Shihan Majane is a wonderful instructor, very patient and understanding. He is still firm and has high expectations for both kids and adults. My daughter (7) is in the kids Judo/Jujitsu class and can't wait to go to each class. She loves being able to explain techniques to newer kids. WMMAA is a great place to go for self defense and self discipline. I will never go anywhere else.
I took a self defense class before entering college with Sensei Majane, and it made me feel more comfortable on campus with the techniques I learned from Sensei. I highly suggest anyone who wants to learn self defense/judo/karate to try out WMMAA!!
My son has been a student since 2017. WMMAA has been the best thing for him! He is much more disciplined now and has alot of respect for the art. Watching him move up the ranks (currently working on getting his black belt), is impressive and I’m glad we choose a good dojo for him to train at! Highly recommend!
