We travel in this area for family a few times a year, and have never had good luck with the record stores, UNTIL NOW. Berkshirecat is a great shop with a knowledgeable and super friendly owner. Extremely fun to browse with a phenomenal selection and fair pricing - but not so many options that it's overwhelming (vs. having to flip thru 8 copies of the same Poco record in a bin to get to gems, that is, if you find anything). Super excited to hear that the owner followed his dreams in opening the shop. The best record store in at least a 100 mile radius! And the old Crane's stationery factory building it's located in is super cool.

By far the best record shop in the immediate area. The selection is great and, more importantly, the prices are sane and in line with used LP market prices (whereas I’ve found other record stores in the area to be insanely overpriced). The owner is great — very personable, knows his stuff, super nice. If you’re looking for a great record store in the Berkshires, look no further. Also, the building it’s located in is cool as hell.

This place reminds me of what music stores used to be.There is always something playing on the turntable, thousands and thousands of records to pick thru. Not to mention cassettes and CD's available. Great store!!
