As a therapist, I so often find myself working with young adults who have anxiety around communicating their needs with doctors, and if doctors when we were kids spoke to kids and explained everything to them the way Dr. Casey did yesterday, I think we would see a whole lot less young adults with this sort of anxiety. She explained everything that she was going to do, asked him for the detailed history of what was going on with his eye, and gave him the treatment options to choose from.
