McMahon Insulation finished up their 3 day job here this afternoon and they did a great job!!! We had squirrels in our attic a while back and numerous times we’ve had mice. We are since working with Griggs & Browne to avoid any critters moving forward. We had MA Save come out and do an assessment and give us a quote for new insulation in our exterior walls since there was none and to add more insulation in the attic. Personally I didn’t feel good about just adding to the attic given the critters we’ve had. So we had McMahon gives a separate from MA Save quote for the removal of all insulation in the attic before installing new insulation. Derek and Danny came on Wednesday and removed it all and started to prep for Thursday’s install. They came back on Thursday with Tim in tow and installed new insulation, added a new roof vent, weather stripping on the exterior doors and started on the exterior walls. Derek and Danny came back today and finished up. The guys were professional, courteous, nice, informative, and thorough in their work. Highly recommend. Also regarding the MA Save piece I only had to pay 25% of the cost of the job to install so totally worth it. After discussion with Derek even if your house is like 5 years old you could benefit from some more added insulation as some of the codes changed a couple years ago on the recommended amount of insulation. Here is the video after they removed ALL the insulation and shortly after they added the new. Such a big difference. Also mice don’t like the new cellulose insulation so that’s a bonus.
We entrusted our nearly 100 year old 4th generation family home to McMahon Insulation. The task at hand was more than merely a quick insulation job. It included removing old ineffective insulation and installing new insulation throughout the entire structure. The process started with Derek coming in and doing a walkthrough to determine what needed to be done. He then assigned two teams – consisting of Josh, Matt, Ernie and George – to the job. We couldn’t be more pleased with the team’s knowledge, professionalism, friendliness, punctuality, and cleanliness. They explained everything they were going to do and why they were doing it. I wish all contractors were this professional.
