I have been going here for at least 5 years (maybe more...I seem to have lost track of time in the pandemic.) What has been consistent over the years is the great community of women and the quality trainers, who truly care about the clients. With the small group, they are able to monitor your form, and adapt exercises to injury or disability. The appointments (which you pay in advance, but can reschedule) insure that I get there regularly! Whatever your age or fitness goals, I highly recommend GISFW Porter Square.
GET IN SHAPE FOR WOMEN is fantastic, and the Porter Square location is absolutely wonderful. I’ve been working out here for six years. John and the other trainers are experts, as well as warm people, demanding in a good way, and very responsive to individual needs and requests. The facility is pristine, and the atmosphere is friendly and fun.
I love this gym! I've done circuit training at several gyms and this is my favorite by far! Catering to women of all ages, John and Katie are great about adapting workouts to all levels, limitations and abilities. I don't feel the pressure I did at other gyms about not being able to keep up someone much younger than me (I'm 54), but still feel challenged (in a good way). Aside from the workout, I love the community in Get In Shape. Both John and Katie take the time to get to know the members personally and everyone is super supportive of each other. Whatever your age or fitness level, if you're looking for a great workout at a gym that won't make you feel self-conscious, this is for you!
