If your ability to speak and understand English is limited, you may need an interpreter for the road test. You may also need someone to help translate during lessons as well to get the most out of your instruction.

Lucien is the owner of the school and his two daughters, Alexa and Shammah run communications/scheduling. Lucien and Alexa are instructors and from what I've heard Cory is a very professional and informative instructor who will prepare anyone for their road test.

Lucien and Alexa are sponsors and either will be in the backseat of the vehicle for the test. The test car is a newer Camry so the gas and breaks are sensitive. Upon arrival at the test site, Alexa is welcoming, helpful and effective at calming everyone's nerves. She had informed us about what the examiner was paying particular attention to that day and what they were failing drivers for. Once in the vehicle remember what you've been taught and do exactly what you're told! I was nervous but with Alexa's encouragement I was able to stay in control and pass with minimal issue.

Here is why I couldn't give them a full five stars. I did about 9 hours of driving with their new instructor Michael. I wanted an instructor who was casual and wouldn't be hard on me about making mistakes. I've had some prior experience on the road but had never taken a class and wasn't sure what to expect. Michael and I got along well and was impressed by my ability to control the steering wheel and navigate around the streets of Cambridge.

He is patient, encouraging and instilled in me the confidence and easy-to-understand technique he had for parallel parking. He noticed I struggled to straighten the steering wheel out and had me do it until I got it right.

However, more often then not it became a frequent occurrence that if I didn't have his full attention because of parking he would either be taking calls or already on the phone when he was picking me up. I had to tell him I already knew my hand signals. Michael never bothered to ask me but it's the first question on the road test. The day of my road test folks ahead of me were failing before leaving the parking lot because of that. Michael’s weakness is that he never asked questions. If you want to know something specific about the test or how to do something with the car you'll have to ask him first.

I had sent in a road test request on the 9th of June and by the next week I was hoping for some sort of confirmation. I knew it would take a couple of weeks for the test to be scheduled, as per typical DMV fashion but a message saying my request was received would of been comforting. I called the school to ask if my request was received and Lucien was very short with me; his answers serving little help. I called again the following Monday (the 20th) and he kept saying I should of already received a date for my test and became frustrated with me when I said I had not.

Alexa communicates almost strictly through text and with hundreds of messages coming in from customers. This lead to a miscommunication between us and instead of having a week to prepare for my road test I had a little over 24 hours to schedule one more class.

In conclusion Shammah Driving School has the best intentions for their students and for locals of the area it is a very easy environment to learn in. Their organization, professionalism at times and pricing could be better.“

“The only thing I did not like was that they would occasionally show up late. Otherwise, they are right around my price range and they are very patient. I took my son there and they took care of everything. They put the test for him and they picked him up and took him there.“

“It's really great. The coaches are very professional, especially Coach Zhou. He is a very serious and responsible coach. He is also very gentle and patient. He speaks both Chinese and English very well. Highly recommended! Moreover, the customer service staff is also very enthusiastic and will recommend different coaches according to the situation. They will also remind you carefully before each class, which is really great! ! !“

“Very kind, patient, and helped me pass my test (this was 4 years ago but w/e) 10/10 would recommend. I had taken driving lessons before and knew how to do it mostly, but could never land parallel parking or the test, and 2 lessons in and I managed to pass/fix some stuff. “I sent my 16 yr old here for driving school. They offered 1-week courses during the summer, which covered the 30 hour classroom requirement enforced by the state. I had done my research and this was clearly the most affordable driving school in my area by far and I appreciated that they offered a payment plan. (You can choose to pay in 3 installments.) You can theoretically have your kid attend all the classes, but will not be able to schedule the driving lessons until you've paid in full. They had a parent class that you have to attend (by law) and the lady who ran the class seemed really nice. They spelled everything out pretty well, as far as classroom rules and state requirements. The driving instructors arrived on time for every lesson. The one critique I have is that I'd ask my son how his driving lessons went and almost every instructor had him driving to the same location (Lynn Beach). I wish they had a better lesson plan for the driving portion and maybe would've exposed him to Route 1 and more parking -- which unfortunately still seems to be a weak spot for him. Overall, I was glad with the pricing and the availability of lessons, as we were able to complete the entire driver's education in less than 3 weeks. You can choose to spread out the driving lessons.“

“My dad had a driving license in China but wanted to get one in Mass. He recently took a few lessons with David and successfully passed the road test yesterday. David was so patient and friendly. He taught him lots of rules and what the test would be. He gave him a mock exam and pointed out many things he needed to pay special attention to. There were a lot of things and were really helpful for the test and the actual driving as well. David helped with translation during the road test as well. I would highly recommend David and the driving school, especially for people who need Chinese translations.“

“Luciano is one of the kindest and honest people I have ever met! Unless other driving schools he has a lot of integrity. He’s a dime in a dozen, always going above and beyond. He was super accommodating of my schedule despite how busy he was. For those who are trying to get a hold of him, it can be difficult at the beginning since he works all the time, but once you schedule time he is a fantastic instructor.
