If I could give zero stars I would. The past 10 years Lahey has gone downhill and loses Doctors frequently. My father was in Emergency the week before last for 8 hours and still never saw a Doctor. He was dehydrated. 3 days later he was back with Covid that he got from sitting in the Lahey Emergency Room for 8 hours 3 days prior. He has been here since Monday and now has Pneumonia and is not going to make it. We should have brought him to Mass General in Boston. Lahey failed last year also when he went in to Emergency when his blood pressure tanked and the findings were that his Doctors had him on 3 blood pressure reducing meds when he needed none any longer. That nearly killed him and since then he is weak and for the last year his BP is normal with no meds. Essentially incompetence is widespread at Lahey. Lahey was good 25 and 30 years ago but no longer. I will get my Mom changed to Mass General as Lahey will not be much help to anyone anymore. Not surprised with the reviews at all. My mom was with me in my car and all of a sudden was feeling numb and couldn't talk. Luckily I was two minutes away from Lahey and blew every light and pulled up to the emergency and said I need help with my mom. I'm not sure if she's having a stroke or heart attack. The lady at the front desk with long Scraggly hair and glasses was no help at all. She said she didn't have the bed and I could use a wheelchair. Having to do this with no help from the staff was ridiculous. Holding my mom's head up while rushing her in. The other nurse behind the desk finally got her on a stretcher and checked her blood. And said we'll have to wait on the doctor. After 20 minutes I said this is ridiculous when is she going to be seen and her response was everyone here is here for a reason and they were there before us. I said I understand but this is a medical emergency. I don't want my mom to die. They are not the ones that should be working at the front. They are not warm and assuring what so ever. Finally my mom gets seen by the nurse. She was amazing. Her name was Stephanie. I felt like it was another world behind the door. Then my cousin came to support us. I said can we swap visits with my mom. She said one at a time. Every time we'd swap turns she was very snappy and said only one a a time with a nasty attitude. When it was only one of us at the door. I said yes I know the rules you've mentioned that over and over. And she started laughing out loud as if it was a game. I'm in the state of shock and have no time for BS. The doctors cared for my mom very well and were great but the staff at the front her horrible horrible horrible. This is sad that even with a hospital in Massachusetts you get treated horribly.

No sheets on bed . When pointed out the nurse said many beds don't have sheets as they are low on them.!!!! My poor mom in her 80s no sheets and slept on a rubber mattress! We brought own from home!! This hospital has really lost its reputation!
