The experience we had with this firm was very disappointing. All the more so because they were recommended to us by our wealth management company. Like many accountancies, their business model requires payment of a retainer fee. In this instance however, the firm completed just one set of tax returns for a deceased parent - and the cost was 4x higher than in prior years. When more complex work was required, the firm simply refused to perform. In our case, Edelstein's partner entered into a retainer agreements with no intention of performing. To make matters worse, although the partners are nominal fiduciaries. they prefer to engage in litigation rather than adhere to their own contractual obligations. In commercial settings termination of engagements by phone shows the company can't be bothered with a trip to the post office. In the circles this firm wants to operate, such behavior should induce a long pause. The technical capacity of this firm to simply get one's address and documentation sorted is atrocious. Any tax software or office productivity software could be more accurate. This firm's weak performance is something one would do well to avoid. One would hope that our experience would be a deterrent to others in the wealth advisory field to be wary. The unpleasantness of this firm cannot be overstated. Avoid.
