“So my last visit to Cassista was the 3rd time in the last 6 years I had an injury and felt like I wouldn’t heal properly or be able to have an adjustment that would fix it. The first time, something within my neck went out of place. I went in, had an evaluation and adjustment, walked out, completely healed within a day. Second time I nearly broke my foot/ankle(bruised bone), had an adjustment, was told to wear a foot wrap and give it a couple weeks. Totally healed. 3rd time, injured my shoulder/back/rib. “Myself and my two children have been seeing Dr. Calhoun for about a year. I'm a former athlete and my children are both athletes. We love his approach to chiropractic care. Not only does he provide treatments for the injury/issue, but also advice for preventative care. One of my children is a high school student athlete with very limited time. If he has a injury or issue, most of the time Dr. Calhoun can see him the same day. This is especially helpful to us. I think Dr. Calhoun has a very holistic approach to treatment, and often times for an injury, he is our first stop before we see a medical doctor. I would highly recommend Dr. Calhoun!“

He explained the processes and the benefits of being treated by a chiropractic. He had seem him after his knee surgery , and years later hurt his back. So he went back for more treatment. “First, I need to apologize to Dr. Harrington for being so late to post this after he totally saved me before a trip to Aruba back in October. Dont ask me how it happened but, while working from home one day, somehow I tweaked my back and I ignored it thinking I'd be fine. Well as the week went by, it wasn't getting better and in fact it got worse and my wife and I were leaving for Aruba in 4 days. Panic set in and I was frantically looking online for a chiropractor that was local and had good reviews and office hours and luckily I found Dr. Harrington. He called me and asked me to come in and I found him to be super friendly and interested in how I hurt my back and how I was feeling. After our consult, he put me on 'the rack and made some adjustments and immediately started to feel better but, Dr. Harrington could see that by the way I was walking that he needed to make more adjustments. Being just 2 days before leaving on my trip, I contemplated canceling it because I was pretty convinced my back wouldn't be able to take a 5hr flight. Dr. Harrington had me come back later that same afternoon and made more adjustments (and DID NOT charge me for the additional visit!...Whaaat??!!...Unbelievable!!) and honestly felt that I would have no problem on the flight. He was right. Although I was still a little sore, I had no problems on the flight and once I was able to relax and enjoy the warm weather, I felt like a new person and have never been so grateful. I feel horrible for posting this so late and I hope you (Dr. Harrington), understand. I plan on stopping in to thank you personally.Thanks for all your help!Terry P.“

“Our daughter had mild scoliosis at age 12, the pediatrician sent us to Dr. Hresko at Boston Children's Hospital. He said it did not require intervention. He did not tell us to return every 6 months, did not advise on avoiding sports like rowing (asymmetrical strain) or trampoline, did not discuss daily posture, how to carry the heavy school backpack etc.By age 15, we were horrified to see that her scoliosis got much worse and her spine was like the letter S :-( Dr. Hresko said it was too late and that she did not need surgery (that's where the doctors and hospitals make the big money). He blamed the pediatrician and school nurse for not monitoring her spine :-/We were distressed and disheartened, but found 3DC in Woburn. Dr. Marc Moramarco and his wife were empathetic and encouraging. They took a 3D scan of her body and created a custom brace (which was thin and lightweight, unlike the heavy and bulky brace they provide at BCH). Kathy and Amy were professional and personable, they spent many hours teaching our daughter Schroth PT exercises tailored to her condition, which she did diligently over a year and a half, and we returned for follow up periodically.It was a big effort and expense (the health insurance would not cover that), her spine will never be straight but her condition improved significantly.Surgeons can be arrogant and detached, they don't believe in preventive treatment or PT; parents must seek alternatives. If your child has scoliosis- I recommend consulting 3DC.“
