Every year, for my birthday, I like to splurge on a full hair cut (not just a trim but adding layers, thinning out to take some weight off, etc) and give it some color. My birthday being in late May, it’s the perfect time to lighten my hair before summer. The last two times I did my birthday hair, I spent a significant amount more than I did here (one year I spent about $130 more and the other I’m embarrassed to say I spent close to $300 more), and got a cut/style and balayage the first year, and cut/style and full highlights the second year, respectively. I’m not the type of person to know all the hair terms and what exactly to ask for, but each year I knew I wanted to lighten my hair up a good amount by adding some blonde, and gave my stylists the freedom to decide how to do that (it was up to them to choose what color treatment I got). And, both years, I left really disappointed. My appointments were both at least four hours, and for that long of a time I thought I’d end up with the shade of blonde I wanted- I even brought in pictures to show- but unfortunately I was left feeling like my hair was still pretty dark, and one stylist told me I would have to keep coming in every month to keep lightening it to finally achieve the color I wanted (no idea how many treatments she expected me to come in for and spend that money to achieve the color I wanted, but I was all set after paying over $400 and just let it go). The haircuts themselves were nothing to right home about, one being way shorter than expected, and the other I can’t even remember what it looked like, but I remember going home and having to straighten it because I hated the way she blew it out and left it frizzy and just not ‘$400 salon trip looking’. SO, this year I was a bit nervous going into this, mainly because I was going to be a bridesmaid in my sisters wedding three days after I got my hair done. I had an appointment booked at the place I went last year as it’s where I went growing up, but I recently moved to the area and didn’t know any places. My appointment got canceled last minute (the day of), so I was scrambling on the Thursday before Memorial Day Weekend to find any place that could take me, not to mention an affordable place around here. I live across from the Burlington mall, so all the salons near me are not in my budget! I came across Blossom, and was able to find an appointment through their online scheduling platform, which made it so easy as I was calling a million other salons, leaving voicemails, waiting to hear back, etc. and I was able to book a cut and blow dry for only an hour after I booked it. There was no availability for any color treatment online, but at least I was getting my desperately needed cut. Then, I got there, mentioned how my initial appointment was canceled elsewhere and how I was going to get highlights, and Kusum said it was no problem, if thats what I wanted she could do it for me. This was SO nice of her and so unnecessary as it was pretty late in the afternoon already, but she seemed more than happy to do it. My experience throughout was lovely- it was quiet in the salon with myself being the only client, and I loved having my stylists full attention throughout, rather than her working on 3 or 4 clients at once, which is my usual experience at the place I mentioned prior. This makes me nervous when I get color done, as it sometimes might sit too long, the stylist might be rushing, etc. and it was so refreshing to have someone only focused on me. I showed her the hairstyle I was getting for the wedding (all the bridesmaids got professional hairstyles), and she was able to create a cut and do my highlights in a way that both complemented the style I wanted for the wedding, and the look I was going for in general. She had me pull up a picture reference for my highlights color, and she absolutely nailed it. My cut was the best I’ve had maybe ever, and my highlights were 100% the best color treatment I’ve ever had. I was floored. Not to mention the price- like I said, I paid more at both salons the last two years, an

10 ⭐ s! Kusam B worked on me for 5 hours! I pointed to a photo. And, her and her colleague were confident, friendly, and professional from the start. This master stylist had to put up with me snoring, sleeping sideways, and more! How she managed to give me the BEST treatment I've EVER had while I was a dead weight, makes her nothing short of a miracle worker! They offer many more services! I recommend Blossom at 700 Boston Road Billerica, MA to everyone!
