“My wife and I met Mr. Noor through volunteering for the Sufi Service Committee of Boston, where we helped manage clothing donations and prepare meals at the CASPAR homeless shelter in Cambridge. Even walking into the building at Noor’s Oriental Rugs causes a wave of calm and peace to wash over you, partially because of the multitude of exquisite rugs all over the walls and piled high on the floors, but also because of the kindness and peace emanating from Mr. Noor himself. After volunteering for several months, as well as attending meditation sessions at the Boston House of Sufism with Mr. Noor, he gave us three incredible rugs that would be well outside of our ability to purchase for ourselves. The Noor’s Oriental Rug experience isn’t just about the incredible rugs (and they definitely are incredible), it’s about coming and having tea with a man who devotes his life to mysticism and service, and who is devoted to embodying peace and love in all his interactions. I’m incredibly grateful that Mr. Noor has allowed my wife and I to be part of this service and to participate in learning about Sufism and also to come hang out in the cool house full of amazing rugs.“

“Greg is the best! I called Nu-Mode a week ago with a very short window to get my carpets cleaned (called on a Monday, asked to have it cleaned by Thursday). Greg was able to get us in Thursday afternoon. This was a move-in clean, and some of the carpets were a bit stained and had some mildew. Greg called me back promptly to schedule, and also called me on his way to our home to be sure we were there (we hadn't moved in yet). He was very fair, and gave me the best price (he charges by the square foot or by the hour, giving you the best rate). It took him about 2 hrs to clean three large bedrooms and walk-in closets. After cleaning, he brushed out the carpets. They look amazing and the house smells bright and clean! Greg also followed up several days later to be sure I was happy. I have a new carpet cleaner in town, and I am thrilled. Nu-Mode also cleans area rugs, and will pick them up or clean them in place depending on consultation. I highly recommend Greg and Nu-Mode!“

“Last fall, my parents asked for my help to find some new-to-them gabbeh rugs (see tribal rugs from Iran and the surrounding region). It was a horrific experience, until we went to Silk Road Orientals in Acton. We searched high and low, going through numerous rug shops in Metro Boston and Southern New Hampshire. Typically what we would find is either a really ugly rug at a reasonable price or a really beautiful rug superbly over priced... We're talking in excess of $7,000. Our budget was about $1,200. I'd typically end the visit exasperated and near death from going through rugs, piled high and full of dust, and leaving empty handed. But, when we went to Silk Road Orientals that all changed. Within 15 minutes, I unfortunately found 3 rugs which fit the bill for my parents. And they price we were given was amazing, so amazing we actually went home with all three rugs. Thanks to about an hour in this store, I will never have to help my parents shop for rugs again, and that in and of itself is a blessing.“

“My wife and I just moved into a brand new house and we NEEDED our couch cleaned. We have a three year old and, need I really say more ? Between the food, milk, snots and whatever else has made its way onto this thing, it was gross to say the least. I did a yelp search and came across Express Cleaning. I reached out and Alex was very responsive. I sent him a picture of the couch and he gave me a quote. He explained his process, what was needed, how long it would take etc. Throughout the week we we were in touch and he kept his word as to when he would arrive. When he did arrive he explained his process in a bit more detail. Told me it was going to take between two and three hours (in my mind it would have been 45 minutes tops). He was professional, courteous, polite and, respectful! He wore a mask and booties over his shoes without me even having to ask. He setup his own table, tarp (as to not get anything on the floors), had all his equipment and did his thing. Three hours later he was done. When it came time to pay him I was totally expecting the ol bait and switch. Not the case. He stuck to his word and I was (still am) in shock. For what he quoted he worked his tail off and it wasn't enough. I cannot recommend Alex enough. Definitely 5/5 would recommend. I'd leave him a 10/10 if possible. We collected a bunch of his cards and are recommending him to friends and family. Thank you Alex! You rock!!“
