We consider Mits Jani the ultimate dog whisperer. Unlike other dog trainers, he does not use a pre-prescribed method of training. Instead, he spends considerable time in the beginning getting to know both the owners and the dog, observing them in action, understanding their goals, and then coming up with a plan in which the owner and the dog are a “team.” He only takes a very small number of dogs at a time and keeps them at his home (not in a kennel) which made the adjustment much easier when our dog, Maggie, graduated from a three-week course and returned to the home she shares with us. I am a brand new, first time dog owner. My 5 month old Cavapoo, Poppyseed, is incredibly intelligent and eager to please but I had no idea how to teach her. Mits at TopDog Training not only taught my puppy basic obedience, but he trained me in commands and expectations. He taught me how the dog’s brain is wired and how to lead her so that she is safe and well behaved. Of course she’s a puppy so she still does things that puppies do, but she is trained well enough to obey and I am now trained well enough to know how to get that result! We are so impressed with the work done by Top Dog Training Academy! My corgi, Gatsby, has a strong personality and thinks he runs the house. Top Dog has taught him that while he may own all our hearts, he still has to do as he’s told. His training was great brainwork for him, which has made him much happier. I feel so much better about his safety now; if I drop his leash, he won’t bolt like he used to! He stays in a wonderful heel and listens to commands.
