Most of the staff were super friendly. The lady at the front desk wasn’t really the nicest (but she was getting trained) and upon booking the appointment their was a lady who I spoke to, not sure of the name, but she was rude as well. Massages were a 8.5/10, what went wrong with the appointment was the prices and hidden fees. In September, I sent my mom to this place for a 60 minute full body massage, cost was $70. I decided to book again for the both of us & on the site both massages were $70 each, (total of $140). I have always had an excellent experience at this Massage Envy location. The front desk staff is the best I have ever encountered at a Massage Envy and everyone I interact with seems genuinely concerned about doing a good job. I have used several therapists over the years, and once I settle on one, I tend to keep them. The overall rating on Google seems deficient compared to my experiences there over the past number of years.
So I finally get a day off and I wanted a nice long massage. The first time I came here the sewage smell was so intense I bought whatever they had to mask the smell. The second time was today, and there was no smell, but one lady working in the back, front, and all over. I usually book online and I certainly will in the future after this. I called and asked for the noon appointment for 1 1/2 hours. I then asked how many credits I currently have and she said 1. Next thing I know my masseuse is leaving the room. I quickly dressed and asked the receptionist why my massage was cut short? She said my credit was only for an hour. I explained that on the phone I asked for the 1 1/2 booking and I simply was wondering how many credits my account currently has. My frustration does not stem from the miscommunication, but the utter lack of caring or apology as I left confused. She really didn't care. As a daily service industry worker (NOLA bartending for the past 12 years solid) myself, I have never witnessed someone represent a business with such a no give a s*** attitude. I even asked if I could book with someone available for another hour and the attitude was too much. However, the short massage did feel great, I would have spent much more time and money had the receptionist been minimally polite. I'll probably come again, but I'll make sure I book online instead of relying on a human. Sad.
