Gastroenterology is awful. We were transferred from another hospital who diagnosed correctly, but did not have the skills or equipment to treat. Stayed at Ochsner on Jeff Hwy for a week before gastro attempted a procedure. Didn't meet the doctor until that day. The residents relay all info. Doctor said no signs of infection when he looked and sent us home. Guess the iv antibiotics knocked it back for a little while. Back via er 2 months later with an abdominal abscess I'm sure was present before. The gastro doctors operate as a team, but they don't communicate with patients or family. Very slow. We have been sitting in ER lobby since 9:44 pm. It's now 11:49 pm with no updates. Mom is 92 with shortness of breath and weakness. Other patients arriving after mom were admitted before her. May leave and just wait for her lab appointment tomorrow and just visit the Baptist Campus

I had back surgery and was put in a room the size of a closet. There were apparently no others available for my 4 day stay. The food was disgusting ( see picture). Thank goodness my daughter brought me food. The level of care from the nursing staff was poor. I needed an xray before I was discharged from the hospital; the xray person was very very rough. I was pushed on to an xray table and raised up and down, pushed and pulled, i was truly afraid, unbelievable. I was crying and pleading for help and they would not stop with this horrific behavior.
