I was here in 2019 after a stroke I had some excellent therapists but the staff was awful. They were condescending and rude and loud Thankfully I transferred over to the Baton Rouge General Hospital in mid city for the remainder of my therapy. They were outstanding and head and shoulders above the NMC.
Very good surgeons. I saw Dr.Gaynor. They do everything they can to make sure their patients are informed of the procedure, the benefits, the potential downside and the recovery process. They performed an emergency major surgery on me which was 100% successful... Their pain management doctors though, will refuse to take your case if it's too tough. They will leave you hurting, even if your surgeon recommends you. The surgeon though, will do everything they can to help you.
I was here Dec. 15 - 23, 2022 after being in Our Lady of the Lake ICU for 9 days because I fell off our roof hitting my head on our concrete patio causing a Traumatic Brain Injury. The rooms are on the 6th floor. The doctors' offices, MRI & CT rooms, administration are all on the first 5 floors. Everyone; doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, is so nice & easy on the patients, yet maintaining a sense of control because of the patients' form of injury or illness. There is an eating area on the 6th floor that is glassed in so you can look out on Perkins Rowe & Bluebonnet Blvd for a little bit of reprieve from your hospital room. I was on a Walker because of my imbalance and instability, the physical therapist said I could take laps around the 6th floor for exercise and the nurses accommodated my wife & I with this task each morning and/or evening when I would walk.
