“I truly believe this is the best gym in the city. Its my favorite place to be. My only regret is I didn't join sooner.“
“We LOVE NOLA Aikido! My 11-yo looks forward to every practice session. As a parent, I appreciate how family-oriented the studio is: parents are always welcome to observe classes and Sensei Brian is very attuned to each student's strengths and needs. I especially love the way Aikido is a practice of both physical and mental mindfulness and agility, and Sensei Brian uses lessons to reinforce concepts of self-regulation and self-awareness, in ways that relate even off the mat. The monthly membership is reasonably priced and functions similarly to a yoga studio membership- kids are encouraged to attend as many classes as they like! Overall, the studio is a warm, welcoming, and encouraging space- a true MidCity gem!“
“It’s a pleasure being in the karate Club and it is Awesome to be a member. I have also met some friends along the way of getting the black belt and beyond. I am looking forward to my goal, Black belt. Niko L.“
“This is a great dojo with amazing instructors who are knowledgeable and helpful. The dojo is filled with warm and friendly people, so one would feel welcomed immediately—I did.“
“Sensei is amazing with children. Patient, fum and direct. I highly recommend the academy for any martial arts child.“
“The trainers at Tiger Rock Metairie exude professionalism and kindness. They work on strength, focus, accuracy, and discipline to name a few. Their attention to the members of each class is incredible. I look forward to seeing where my son goes on his journey. He is currently a brown belt at 9 years old and already talks of working at Tiger Rock to help train incoming students. This says a lot about Master Lee and his amazing staff!“
“Dropped on for a nogi class while traveling for work. The gym was clean, welcoming, and the coaches were top notch. The techniques taught were advanced, but attention was paid to all the details and ensuring everyone at the class was following. Will definitely go again.“
“I enrolled in my first class taught by Sensei Mikami on September 10, 1968. Other han learning one of the best martial arts taught by the best teacher,it layed the foundation for dealung with the hardships of life and all that it presented. This is what Sensei Mikami ingrained in me...confidence, discipline, values, character and the way to overcome all odds. It doesn't get any better than this. Never give up. Dr. Rick Italiano, Doctors Without Borders.,New Orleans.“
“My daughter left saying, “I like this already” and “I feel encouraged...”. The visit was such a boost in confidence for her. Thanks!“
“GrandMaster O’Neal and BLUE LION helped to save my son. Today he is in Cairo, Egypt instead of a prison cell. Thank you ??!“
“We absolutely love this place. My son and daughter both enjoy the classes and training. As a parent I have seen major growth in them, both in and out of the sport! I also train with Master Jordan in the adult class and can tell you I have learned something at every single class. He is incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and encouraging! You will not be disappointed!“
“I remember when it was called art monroe taekwondo plus, it still set up same way best memories I have as a child was here in this building. so I'm sure if it's like back then I strongly suggest it, learned self defense, self discipline and respect. Hated leaving wanna find somewhere locally where I am now so I can start training over and possibly go further than my 3rd degree black belt. Personally I loved the tournaments they had for us and loved my instructors so much man the 90's was amazing in this building“
